About this audiobook

Sam Parker is a vampire with a gift so strong and substantial that she is invited to partake in a test for a place in the Grand High Master Vampire's private army. She finds that not only has the army never included a woman, but it has never included a Svente vampire; a breed that is regarded by the super strong Pagori breed and the hypnotically beautiful Keja breed to be too tame and human-like. Most refuse to take her seriously, especially a Pagori commander named Jared who she craves in spite of herself. The Grand High Master, however, sees her potential and offers her the position of Jared's co-commander to help train the newest squad in time for the impending attack on his home. Sam has to demonstrate to Jared and the squad of chauvinists why it is incredibly foolish to underestimate a wilful, temperamental, borderline-homicidal Svente female.

Story line is great. I love the strong female lead. The only thing I didn't like much was the man narrating Jared's lines. Not what I had expected.

Fun escapism novel. Every girl needs a gay best friend.

I quite enjoyed the book, and found it much better than the Werewolf books she had written (although I’ve only read 2)
I enjoyed the female narrator, but found the alternating between male and female narrator a little bit annoying.
Will definitely read the next book in the series.

I love how Suzanne writes, she have a wonderful imagination and creates amazing worlds. But I'm not able to listen this audiobook. All the sexism is absurd, the characters are empties. The characters lack profundity and they are immature also. Or how can you will explain that an heir-commander prefers to mess up with the protagonist (a typical Mary Sue) instead being interested to train his legions when they're expecting an attac; it's illogical. Also I'm honestly tired to the new feminism lack of equity, morality and ethics. I would recommend you to read and listen to the Mercury pac and the Phoenix pac; great stories, excellent characters and realism. I'm giving 2 stars because I really like the author, otherwise she would owe me the stars!!!!

The main female is strong, independent, humorous, intelligent and a good leader! I loved the world building. I liked the narration. I plan to continue the series.

I was super intrigued by this storyline and the characters. I adore anything Suzanne writes and this did not disappoint.

Sam is one kickass vampire after being turned and falling into the weakest vampire group. She will take no BS and is skilled at fighting which was a really great take on the story. She was scouted to train warriors and that did not leave a good taste in Jared's mouth. At. All. I mean how can a woman be his second in command and train an army? Not possible.

Except this obviously doesn't sit well with Sam and she does not back down or let Jared win. She knows her worth and what she is capable and Jared being sexist is the easiest thing during her day.

This was hilarious, super super steamy and had a really good plot with a different storyline.

Oh, I love this series so much! I
It’s the only one so far I’m eager to re-listen: the dual narration is fantastic, world is good and quite new, h is a bitch, H is an arrogant asshole - what’s not to love, love?)

I love the main character. The heroines in romance novels similar to these generally are neurotic, whiny and like to play the victim role. Whereas this main character was strong, independent and she demanded your respect. I really liked how she commanded the room but she wasn’t overpowering and she wasn’t a bitch for no reason. The storyline was engaging and the female narrator was awesome. The male narrator was OK but sometimes he could be flat when he would switch between characters. Overall I really enjoy this book.

Sick entired of audiobooks where the end of the chapters gets cut short. Frustrating! But it was still a good book.

I read this book a long time ago, so I wanted to see how the audio version compared I give it a 9/10! I loved it. Especially that they issued and actual Brit to do Sam’s voice. Good

I loved the shifters and the demon world this author created. Now I get to enjoy a cross-over world of vampires with magic. So much fun. I get plenty of spunky females with witty quips and dominant males. She adds lots a sexual tense and steamy scenes so this series will be another go to favorite from Ms. Wright

I can handle some sexism from male characters in books as long as they change their views at the end
However men who have multiple consorts and use the word 'bitch' often aren't my thing
Neither are female protagonists who bash other women based purely on their physical appearance

I really liked the British flavor of this book. The banter and the realistic emotional time scale was very refreshing too! Finally a romance where the aren't each wanting to have each other's baby the first day! And even though so much of this book was 'hard to believe' it was still unique and interesting enough that you were still able to suspend disbelief so you could enjoy it. Fun book.

So, I liked this book okay, it as entertaining and steamy at times. I love that the girl vampire got to be a kick ass heroine. But this book doesn't, for me, compare to the wolf shifter series.

I loved this one. It was genuinely funny and the heroine was strong and self-confident. But still totally cool.

Since Suzanne Wright is self-published, the comma-issue and some grammar and typos are understandable, a beta reader would help with that? It's a pity with those annoying little things, because the story, the characters, the humor - it's all really great.

So, absolutely recommended - a fun and riveting read.
