About this audiobook
"The first few choices you make each morning determine whether you'll be productive and mindful all day, or whether the world will clobber you over the head."
Marie Kondo performs a quick tidying ritual to quiet her mind before leaving the house. The president of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, Ed Catmull, mixes three shots of espresso with three scoops of cocoa powder and two sweeteners. Fitness expert Jillian Michaels doesn't set an alarm, because her five-year-old jolts her from sleep by jumping into bed for a cuddle every morning.
Part instruction manual, part someone else's diary, the authors of My Morning Routine interviewed sixty-four of today's most successful people—including three-time Olympic gold medalist Rebecca Soni, Twitter cofounder Biz Stone, and General Stanley McChrystal—and offer advice on creating a routine of your own.
Some routines are all about early morning exercise and spartan living; others are more leisurely and self-indulgent. What they have in common is they don't feel like a chore. Once you land on the right routine, you'll look forward to waking up.
This comprehensive guide will show you how to get into a routine that works for you so that you can develop the habits that move you forward. Just as a Jenga stack is only as sturdy as its foundational blocks, the choices we make throughout our day depend on the intentions we set in the morning. Like it or not, our morning habits form the stack that our whole day is built on.
Whether you want to boost your productivity, implement a workout or meditation routine, or just learn to roll with the punches in the morning, this book has you covered.
Read by Will Damron, Kaleo Griffith, Dominic Hoffman, Hillary Huber, Sumalee Montano, Arthur Morey, Fred Sanders, and Karissa Vacker

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not recommended as an audiobook. Probably better in print where you can skim a bit. Too much repetition in the questions and answers from interviewees to make this a good audiobook.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Abandoned. The books is largely composed of interviews of successful people, but not a lot of quantitative or qualitative data. Felt a bit less useful to me, though I could see the interviews as inspiration for others.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Is this read by AI? Sure sounds like it
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I’ve been overwhelmed for a long time about my natural tendency to go on my mornings, but actually it kind of looks like a lot of the examples given in this book, but mine was shapeless with the permanent guilty felling of the non accomplished mission, eventhough Im an early riser. As a freelancer every day its up to you... Its quite a lot!
I’ ve been working on building my morning routine as I was listening to this book. So little modifications can do so much!
Thanks! - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5As a retired person, I got very little out of this book. But I was curious to see how certain celebrities, athletes and business people handled their morning routines. Part of me wondered whether the respondents were being truthful about their exercise programs, dietary habits, meditation practices and sleeping habits.
I do agree that the first hour of the morning may be the most important as it sets the tone for the rest of the day. But as I skimmed the book, I noticed variations in people's routine. What works for a celebrity or army general may not work for you.
If you are interested in the lifestyles of the rich and may be not so famous, you may enjoy this book. I read about 50 pages and that was all I needed to read. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Disappointed in a few agenda driven cleverly planted sentences. Some helpful concepts and ideas, but I wish the politics could be neutral.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked the spirit of the book, but honestly felt like everyone here was a writer or CEO. The trouble with the idea of interviewing already successful people is those people generally have a lot of freedom & power over their schedules and morning routines. I'd like to see my boss let me go work from a coffee shop for two hours before going to meetings in the morning.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I realize an importance of morning routine so I was looking for some reinforcement or ideas for improvement. However, I found this book very dry and repetitive.. and just boring.
