About this audiobook

Just like Rapunzel from the fairy tales, dreamy, romantic Amy lives a hidden life. She's kept locked away in a tower for her own safety, with her sister as protector. Amy knows it's for her own good. If a dragon catches her scent, she'll be carried away and forced to become a drakoni's mate.

But Amy has a secret-she desperately wants to be stolen. She would love to be rescued from her life of idleness and the thought of a devoted drakoni male charging in and saving her from her boredom sounds perfect to her. Of course, she wants a romantic, loving male who will adore her.

What she gets is Rast. He's not kind. Not romantic. Definitely not gentle. But he is utterly and completely obsessed with Amy and he'll stop at nothing to make the delicate female his.

Contains mature themes.

Poor Amy, constantly cooped up. Understandably for her protection but still. Rast is essentially no better as a protector and was 2 seconds from getting on my nerves . . . Luckily, he came to terms with his possessive and figured out how to compromise.

Dystopian fiction is a favorite of mine. Stories of the match-ups and humanity’s issues are complex enough to keep me interested.

Probably my least favorite in the series. Not because it was bad but because Amy isn't my kind of leading lady. The romance between these two though was GREAT and I LOVE the dynamic and the route the relationship went in but "poor pitiful me" was really difficult to get over during the first part of the book. Definitely interested to watch these two play into the saga though, Rast brings a whole new dynamic to the boys!

Surprisingly good, better than first two books, Amy is a better character than her sister Claudia.

I appreciate the character development of Amy. She completely transformed in this book.

The newest dragoon story from Ruby Dixon is the best, I think. I've been looking forward to Amy's story for a while, and I'm happy to see it.

I liked watching Amy grow and change and come into her own. Having Rast there to help her gain confidence was great. Sure, he's there to back her up, but he also let's her take the lead and is fine with that, at times. Rast is so proud of her and her actions and beliefs. They may now be my favorite couple in the series. I can't wait to see where the series is going to go now.
