About this audiobook

Now a major motion picture! Stephen King’s #1 New York Times bestseller is a “wild, powerful, disturbing” (The Washington Post Book World) classic about evil that exists far beyond the grave—among King’s most iconic and frightening novels.

When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Despite Ludlow’s tranquility, an undercurrent of danger exists here. Those trucks on the road outside the Creed’s beautiful old home travel by just a little too quickly, for one thing…as is evidenced by the makeshift graveyard in the nearby woods where generations of children have buried their beloved pets. Then there are the warnings to Louis both real and from the depths of his nightmares that he should not venture beyond the borders of this little graveyard where another burial ground lures with seductive promises and ungodly temptations. A blood-chilling truth is hidden there—one more terrifying than death itself, and hideously more powerful. As Louis is about to discover for himself sometimes, dead is better

Michael C. Hall’s reading of Pet Sematary must be one of the best I’ve ever listened to. Having had read this book many times before plunging into the audiobook, I can say that it really enhances the story.

So this was my first SK novel (among many more to come), and as much as I liked it, I was left a bit disappointed by the fact that SK says himself in the intro that this is his most messed up work yet...and tbh, the last 15% is the most frightening, while the rest to be a bit slow at times. Maybe I’m just a scrub, but I was hoping for more with that kind of hype coming from the author himself. Now, having seen the film first, this book is soooooooooooooooo much better than the 1989 film adaptation.

I chose this book due to the reboot coming out early this april, but even before a final trailer is released, there is already W A Y too many things that don’t connect with the book (by a lonnnng shot folks). so with that in mind, I would recommend this one right now. Also, narrator does amazing with voices

King’s long stories are full of details of plot and characters. This, in my opinion, is one of his best. A scary tale that will fill you with unease and keep you turning pages as quickly as you can.

Excellent book. The final quarter of the book is flawless and that ending is just perfect. The narration work by Michael C. Hall in the Audio version is second-to-none. I really wish he did more narration work, he's truly fantastic.

Fantastic story. Amazingly sad. King has a way of making you fall in love with the characters all the while feeling terrible for them and their impending doom.
Michael C Hall’s narration is fantastic. I couldn’t have thought of a better person for this audio book

Amazing. I get why my parents wouldn’t let me see the movie as a kid. The narrator was fantastic!

I loved every second of this book. It is so frightening, a parent’s worse fear: their kids coming into harm, so it makes this book all the better, with the gruesome details of the accident ad everything. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good scare.

If you’re a parent this book is likely better. I thought there was too much build up to get to the point of it.

I read this book for the first time when I was thirteen. It launched my love of reading. I have reread it several times thru the years and figured this time I would do the audio. MICHAEL C did an amazing job. Still get goosebumps when reading it, and I still love it.

This was a great book. It has a darker, slightly morbid feel to it but all in all the book had great content and captures the reader in the story.

So tragic. Terrifying for any parent. I was hoping for a different ending having seen the movie. You can read it and find out it it was. Great narration.
