If you do as well, look no further! Perley Gates is a young Texan who is shy, lightning fast on the draw but hates to harm anybody, and by looking at him most folks don’t consider him a threat. Well, until he steps into what is referred to as “cow pies” then it is possible the nefarious people see a side of Perley others don’t even know exists.In this first book of the Perley Gates westerns, folks will enjoy getting to know this fictional man and all his quirks and fine qualities. Perley is named after a grandfather. While most folks are curious about his name, and might make fun of it, Perley tends to mind his own affairs. However, he is more than willing to help people who look like they need a hand, though that doesn’t always work out to be the case.Perley loses a close family member and then is asked to locate another. While he is on his quest, he walks into more situations that seem to take him away from his goal than most folks. However, throughout the book, it was fun meeting the various other players in the tale and watch this young man react to the many twists and turns he runs across.Perley is one of three sons, as well as a sister, who work together on their ranch in Texas. Perley definitely is one of a kind in many ways compared to his brothers, but he also has some of the same traits the family is known to exhibit. If you’re looking for a tale that is exciting, at times breath taking and humorous, you found it! The Perley Gates western series has other books to enjoy as well titled, A Reason to Die, Bullets Don’t argue and coming in 2020 Shot to Hell.
