      The modern king of Alaska (don't ask) meets a sassy blonde and decides she will be the perfect wife for his son. Everybody more or less goes along with this and it becomes kind of a weird alternate-universe (see Alaska, above) 'Princess Diaries' with Ron Perelman in the Julie Andrews role and the baboon from 'Lion King' in the Hector Elizondo part. Overall, it's a funny, sexy read, though I probably won't go back for the other two "Alaskan Royal Family" books by this author.

      This is a great story with an alternate-universe sort of feel to it, where Alaska never becomes part of the United States. The characters all have their own distinctive personalities, which makes falling in love is very entertaining.

      MaryJanice Davidson has become one of my all-time favorite authors. I first found her by reading Undead and Unwed, the first book in her Undead series. Wanting more, I found The Royal Treatment. I must be honest and say I didn't like it as much as do her Undead books, but it is a sincerely hysterical book!The Royal Treatment is set in an alternate reality, the world is almost the same as this one, but Alaska is it's own country and has its own rulers. And boy are they a bunch of nuts! The characters are not as fully fleshed out as I prefer them to be, but I loved all of them. They each have their own quirky personality and odd habits. I want to take them all home with me!The only negatives I found were the profanity used and the fairly explicit love scenes. As I don't really mind the language, and I blip over the love scenes if they're too much for my delicate constitution.Books don't make me literally laugh out loud very often, but this one did. Actually, all of MaryJanice Davidson's books do. Every time!

      What a fun read. I needed something fun and lighthearted and I found it in this book. I liked the royal family and all their wackiness.

      I found this book to be laugh out loud funny. I was able to suspend disbelief and just go with it. Having a Royal family with all their quirks and high-jinks exposed was a great escape from reality

      In this slightly-alternate world of MaryJanice Davidson's, everything is exactly the same as our own - except that Alaska, instead of being sold to the US in the 1800s, broke away from Russia and became its own country with its own erm.. unique monarchy.Enter American Christina Krabbe ("It's pronounced 'Crab', no 'e.'"), a no-nonsense ex-cruise ship cook. She jumped ship upon quitting (due to an incident involving flooring her boss for sexual harassment) and found herself stranded in Alaska, only to be taken in by none other than the king himself - and set up with the crown prince as the future crown princess!This book is fun, lighthearted, and funny. Unlike Davidson's Queen Betsy series, the heroine of The Royal Treatment is smart, a fact which I greatly appreciated. Christina is smart, has a don't-mess-with-me attitude, knows what she wants and won't back down from anyone - not even the king himself, nor any of his five equally strong-willed children.

      This book never ceases to crack me up! After 16 years in Alaska it just doesn't take much of a stretch to picture us a kingdom and I've no doubt at all we'd be very much as Ms. Davidson pictured us.If you in the need for something completely irreverent grab yourself a copy of this book.

      Ever what would have happened if Alaska had not become part of the United States of America? Well, this book explores that in a humorous and delightful way. Enter an American who doesn't cowtow to royalty and you have a match made in...Alaska. Another fun series by Davidson.

      In a world almost like ours, the North won the Civil War and Russia never sold Alaska to the US, instead Alaska is an independent kingdom, a quite wealthy kingdom. Their Royal Family is quite eccentric and the king wants a wife for his eldest son. When the King finds Christina, who is between jobs, he decides she's perfect and decides to throw the two of them together.It's typical MaryJanice Davidson fare and it's great fun unless you start using your brain, a lot of what happens is a little farfetched but it's quite enjoyable.

      First book in Davidson's Alaskan Royal series. This is set in an alternate universe in which Alaska is its own country, and is a monarchy. An American ends up stranded in Alaska and is taken in by the royal family. She ends up marrying and falling in love with the crown prince. This book was funny, but the heroine could be obnoxious at times.
