About this audiobook

Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods and the woman who was killed. Since then she's been forgetting everything. Where she left the car, if she took her pills, the alarm code, why she ordered a pram when she doesn't have a baby... What she can't forget is the woman she might have saved, the terrible nagging guilt, the silent calls she's receiving and the feeling that someone's watching her…

I enjoyed the audio version of this book! It had a twist I definitely had not expected! I did initially not think so highly of the main characters, and halfway into the book, they started annoying me. But - without giving any spoilers - the twist in the story made up for a lot and gave me more understanding into the behaviour of some of them. Cool book, although I enjoyed "Behind Closed Doors" of this same author even more.

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Breakdown by B.A. Paris was a clever, twisty thriller that made me shocked at the end. It made me guess all the way through. Made me question all the way through. Made me mad from time to time. I just needed to know what was going on. I just could not leave this for tomorrow. I needed to know! And OMG, I didn't expect the twist in this way! Not even talking about the end!

Cass saw the car parked on the side of the road, she didn't see who was in but she felt that probably the person would need help. Unfortunitelly Cass wasn't brave enough to step outside and the next day was too late as the woman had been killed. After realising she knew the victim Cass having a mental breakdown and things just going down the hill from there. Her husband is trying hard to support her on a daily basis but even he is starting to get irritated. What the hell is going on and who is behind this nightmare?

Definitely recommend this book if you are a fan of domestic suspense thrillers.

Suspenseful domestic noir with plenty of twists and turns. It has a slow beginning, but it's well worth persevering as the plot unfolds. I loved the audiobook. Brilliant narrator

Good storyline but a tad predictable. Upper middle class narration starting to annoy though. Not a bad listen.

Second B.A. Paris book I've read. Found it hard to listen to this in audiobook version. Think it's the narrarator they had reading, she sounds and almost reads like a little girl. Book just wasn't interesting. I feel I didn't miss anything after listening from chapters 1 through 7 and skipping to the very end. Too bad too because Behind Closed Doors was such a good read! Don't recommend this book.

A igrippng psychological thriller that built up cleverly around the horror of early onset dementia.

Lost its momentum a bit at the end with all being tediously revealed to the main character rather than being inferred by them.

I must have read many similar books in the last because I knew from the start who was guilty. It was just an ok read, no surprises and no plot twists.
