About this audiobook

There's always one in the bunch.

The one who takes things a little too seriously-a little too far. The fanatic, if you will.

When a radical Pagan group blows into Tequila Key to celebrate the autumnal equinox, Althea Rose's psychic senses start tingling. She goes on full alert after meeting Horace, a Gandalf wannabe who reminds Althea of an old man playing dress up. One look into his pale eyes sets her straight, and soon Althea's best friend Luna is forcing her to learn a magickal protection spell before they investigate Horace and his festival. To make matters worse, Althea botches the spell and the results are . . . interesting to say the least.

Oh, and about that love life of hers? There's no time for love when bodies start turning up on deserted beaches. Soon, Althea is in way over her head as the full moon starts to rise and the clock counts down on the killer wandering Tequila Key's quiet streets.

I did not expect to love this series as much as I do. I expected it to be a kitschy smut fest but instead it is a lovely combination of hilariously awkward moments, mystery, sarcasm and a love triangle that has me just as torn as the MC. I honestly cannot decide which love interest I like more. My loyalty to Trace and Cash flip flops with abandon. In one chapter I love Trace and in the next I'm Team Cash all the way. I do not envy Althea that choice but I love reading about it!!

The Supernatural and mystery aspects of this book are fun and kitcby enough to be interesting. However the constant romance novel-esque dips into the main character's lust filled imagination ruins the pace and mood of the book. Althea goes from being a strong confident psychic ready to take on the world, to literally forgetting her best friend is in peril at the sight of a man. The author's romance novel background seems to be really hard for her to shake.

I just love this cozy series. Althea is so lovable! The messes she gets into just make this book so fun. I love all the different relationships from friendships to boyfriends. I love getting to know the side characters too.

A few things- zip ties versus handcuffs and the dog isn’t hers.
