About this audiobook
Shepherding a Child’s Heart is about how to speak to the heart of your child. The things your child does and says flow from the heart. Luke 6:45 puts it this way: “…out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” Written for parents with children of any age, this insightful book provides perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child’s heart into the paths of life.
In this revised edition of Shepherding a Child’s Heart, Dr. Tedd Tripp not only draws on his thirty years experience as a pastor, counselor, school administrator, and father, but he also shares insights gained in many years of teaching this material in conferences worldwide, providing more valuable help for parents.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a well-balanced book on parenting. Shepherding a child's heart means more than just correcting your child when they do something wrong or spanking them when they are out of line, but getting to know them and speaking to their heart. It means being the example you would like to see in them. It means discipling out of love and it also means seeking to discipline in a kind way. This and so many more wise counsels will you find in this little treasure.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book establishes the need to get beyond behaviour to the issues of the child (and parent's) heart. Then goes on to give a panorama of the changing needs and character of the parent child relationship from infancy to adulthood.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a brilliant book. It really helped me to reflect on my own upbringing and how to bring God and godly principles into how we interact and instil character. Very inspiring and insightful.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This book has a skewed view of the gospel message. In short it is all a power struggle with babies. Theres a reason why poland recently banned this book and why there are many many parents speaking up about how harmful this book is.
Do yourself a favour and go to authors like Clay and Sally Clarkson to find Godly wisdom and encouragement to start your parenting jounery that is Peaceful yet Confident. Books that encourage you to be a True Shepherd of your children. Nurturing, Teaching, training, protecting.
Not a 'confused tyrant' in a power struggle with babies and toddlers using mindless formulas that this book dishes out.
Most of all, look to Christ and his example . The shepherd who goes looking for the one lost sheep, carries it back on his shoulders, holds it close to his bossom, uses his Staff/Rod to 'protect' from wild animals or lift up from pits (evil) and gives comfort (psalm 23). Not beat his lambs to submission. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5AMAZING. of course the liberal Christians are not going to line up on some methods but lots of very practical and helpful wisdom. will be the first book i recommend to any parent. especially Conservatives
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Helpful biblical some things I didn’t agree with but over all a great resource!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Probably the best Christian parenting book (other than the bible itself) that I have ever read. I will have to check Tedd Tripp's other books on parenting. One last thing I'll mention is I was left encouraged and inspired to be a better parent for Christ.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow- this book is on another level if you’re looking for wise counsel in Godly parenting. By far the best advise I’ve heard/ read on parenting. My daughter is only 1 but I’m already able to implement his teaching. Excited to build a foundation for our family in the way God intended it

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Lots of stuff in this book is not found in the Bible. Very punitive and lacking the grace that God extends to His children.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The only part I remember after reading is where it gives detailed instructions for the kind of stick to use to beat my baby. Books by the Clarksons are much more in line with God as God has been revealed to me at this point in my journeys of faith and motherhood.
