I think I liked this book just a little better than the first in the series. The story went further astray from "Alice in Wonderland", but worked better for me. It is a Fantasy Adventure, set in a bizarre landscape of madness, murderers, and magic.
If you liked the first book, you should like this one too. This one focuses more on Alice, alone, separated physically but never mentally. it explores her growth as a magician and as a woman.. And as a character.
The story is good, the world building is good too, but the character development is a little lacking, but getting better. I'll read the next book in the series and hope that continues to improve. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not as fast-paced or linear as its predecessor, but more twisty in the spirit of randomness of the source material. An interesting, but not necessary sequel to "Alice".
