About this audiobook

What does a too-nosy secretary have in common with an alien? Nothing. Until she's turned into an alien, too. And then, well, there's everything.

Joyce's life is mapped out: dead end job, after dead end job, until she is dead. At least, that is until Kede Tria-a Doshan alien-shows up and takes her away from it all. Literally. He's overbearing, possessive, sexy as hell, and everything she never knew she wanted in a man, er, alien.

Of course, life happens and she discovers Death by Chocolate isn't just a dessert, it's a reality. Good thing Kede is there to save her . . . by making her Doshan.

Kede Tria is the Holder of House Tria, commander of the starship Vehly, and one of the most feared Doshan warriors. He's also Joyce's life mate-her harau. His curvy, deliciously lush mate just doesn't know it yet. She was human and now she is Doshan, but through it all she remains one thing: his.

Kede will fight for what belongs to him. So, while others are intent on ending her life, they do not realize he will gladly end theirs.

    Ok so this book ended up being way better than I expected but in such a non traditional sense. The main character Joyce is crass and funny as hell with a foul mouth.

    The main character's constant complaining and snarky comments clouded an otherwise enjoyable and funny tale. Not so bad I wouldn't read another in the series but I hope they have heroines that are a bit less shrill.

    I like the world but the main character Joyce is soooooo annoying

    The most unlikeable female protagonist I've ever. There are other ways to establish tension it gets grating having it caused by unrealistic choices

    This book was wildly funny and adventurous. A secretary becomes an ambassador in a chance street meeting with an alien warrior who selects her. She has quite a mouth on her but accidentally gets poisoned and turned into an alien herself. The dialog between the commander and his chosen is hilarious. She demands her rights and is irreverent at all times. The violence is the book reminded me of the berserkers of the past.

    This book had me laughing out loud from the beginning to the end! I just wish it hadn’t ended. I will read this book over and over again and will never again be able to hear the word “probing” without cracking up.

    Loved this book. If aliens are real then I'd love to be kidnapped by one.

    It's kind of long for an audio book and some people may find the main male character both dominant and almost to soft in his love for Grace. Grace is kickass for fighting for herself and those she believes in. The commander is in some ways pig headed but still devoted to Grace.

    Okay...I agree that Joyce can be a bit whiny and annoying, but the verbal sparring between character is quite entertaining. All in all, I really enjoyed it. P.s the beginning narration was a bit robotic sounding

    2.5 Stars for me!

    My rating range of this story... 1 - 3 Stars
    If significant, why? The h... Beyond Annoying and the H is beyond stupid alpha

    Main Character Ratings...
    H = 4/10
    h = 2/10

    Narrator Rating(s)
    M =
    F = 4/10

    If below 5/10, why? The portrayal of the H was ear splittingly screech and nearly caused my ears to bleed. During the first 60% if the story, the h was constantly screeching. She did a very good job on all of the other characters.

    Was cheating involved? No
    Any major triggers to be aware of?

    Scenes with heat... Yes
    What point does it start? 70%
    How much of the story? 5%
    Anything beyond M/F? No
    If yes, explained

    Heat Rating... 7/10
    Clean or Fade to Black - 1 or 2
    Normal to Descriptive 3-5
    Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
    Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

    Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? No

    The back story... The H goes to Terra to bring back a female and grabs the wrong one. She spends the first 35% of the story screeching at the H and others. The H decides that he wants to keep her and goes 17 year old aggressive moron on anyone and everyone who looks at her for more than one second. The Terran's want her back, even though the language implant could kill her.

    The Romance... I really didn't see it at all. She spent the first 60% of the story screeching at him regardless of the situation. He was a brain dead caveman... You belong to me and I will kill anyone who looks at you... even the doctor.

    The drama explosion... Bad Terran tries to kidnap the h.

    Did it feel real or contrived? Neither
    Was it OTT? A bit
    Separation involved? A bit
    Was it resolved properly or rushed? Properly

    Final Notes... The last 10% of the story was worth having to skip forward past the constant screeching of the h. If the constant obnoxious attitude of the h was cut by 75% after the 25% mark, this story could have been a solid 4 Star read/listen. There was a point in the story that I skipped past 15 minutes out of 19 minutes due to the screeching of the h.
