About this audiobook

Expansion. Uneasy alliances. Looming Madness.

Both Cal and Dale have become stronger, each in spite of the other.

The dungeon-Cal-knows exactly how much their power has increased and is working daily to become exponentially more powerful. His schemes are becoming more complex and his dungeon-his body-more deadly.

Dale works to subvert the plans of the dungeon, but his opponent is onto him. Hearing a voice in his head distracts him in critical moments requiring him to fight his mind even as he battles deadly creatures. Unbeknownst to both, their fight is not with each other-it's for the continuation of their lives.

Madness threatens the land, and it is coming for them.

The fun snazzy commentary, puns and 4th wall break's continues. The stakes keeps getting higher in a twist that I couldn't have imagined. A much better book compare to Book 1 where character's are now getting flushed out and the systems in place are getting used to the potential. Soild 10/10

After really enjoying the first book, this book often left me wondering where the characters were in relation to each other, in relation to a above ground, in relation to the dungeon. It got a little muddy at times as to exactly who was where, and there were parts of the story that required having that in your head to understand what was happening.

What a good book! Great follow up to the first book and makes me hungry to consume the next one!

I really enjoyed the book, the recording was the issue. Almost every chapter ended with some words being cut off.

This is the second book in the Dungeon Series written by Dakota Krout. I had never given any thought, prior to these books, about the management of the dungeons that I had adventured into while tackling various video games. Yes, I was one of those adventurers who simply ‘expected’ the bosses to appear where they were supposed too, and my prizes to shower down upon me(metaphorically). Never in a thousand years would I have imagined that a dungeon was a sentient being. The author continues in this this novel to educate naive adventurers about the inner workings of a particular dungeon named ‘Cal’ & his wisp, Dani. Some of the educational sections can be tedious but are necessary to further our knowledge base of the inner workings of the dungeon. The author continues developing his main characters, and as such,we, the readers, learn more about their strengths, & weaknesses both physically and psychologically. I’ve noticed in both novels, that the author has been dropping a trail of bread crumbs. Since there are no hungry sea gulls or pigeons to feed, I suspect these might lead to an upcoming battle, but I might be wrong. Mr. Krout has an excellent use of descriptive language and moves the story along at a decent pace. This novel ends with quite an unexpected twist. It explains the title of the book & acts as a cliffhanger and a very good clue as to the upcoming battle that will most likely be one of life & death. Certainly an interesting method to wet the appetites of the reader/listeners. As a result of the author’s excellent descriptive narrative and the narrator, Vikas Adam’s, smooth delivery, it is easy to shut one’s eyes & visualize the entirety on your mind’s 65” 4K LED Smart TV. This reader is hooked & anxious for Book 3 in the Divine Dungeon series, “Dungeon Calamity”. If you play either video or table-top games, I would suggest this novel.

More of the same. I didn't really care about anyone or anything. No need to continue the series.

Still a decent story. Same issues as with book one (author interjecting himself into the story), but it is fine. I will probably read the next in the series because something happens at the end that will likely make everyone want to read the next to find out how it gets resolved.

Enjoyed the first book of this series, so I thought I'd return to the world of Cal, Dani, Hans, and Dale. These a bit of a middle book letdown for this one. Lots of shifts as plots are positioned, but not enough to completely disown the book.Cal has grown. He's become more childlike in his actions in some cases. What Cal can do to creatures and things is downright eerie. Remake goblins? EW! And like most kids, he doesn't always think about the consequences of his actions. Mushroom spore zombies? Uh, right. Cal's experimenting comes back to haunt him. Got it. The author has developed this bad habit in this book with a lot of conversations extended with "plus" or "also." I might have missed it in the first book, but it's becoming ANNOYING in this book. Especially when it's every time there's a conversation. I'm a little surprised the editors didn't fix that before it went to print. While I like the growth of Dani ... Not sure I like the thought of the Amazon Goblin Creature Then again, maybe not. Whoa! Okay, epilogue note. I so expected Nick to die at the hands of the evil lord. And we have cliff hanger! Drat! This was still a fun book, but as I said, a bit of a middle book let down. Still worth it and can't wait to see what happens in book 3.
