About this audiobook
Quietly and steadily, the number of women making six figures or more is increasing and continues to rise at a rate faster than for men. From entrepreneurs to corporate executives, from white-collar professionals to freelancers and part-timers, women are forging careers with considerable financial success.
In Secrets of Six-Figure Women, Barbara Stanny, journalist, motivational speaker, and financial educator, identifies the seven key strategies of female high earners: A Profit Motive, Audacity, Resilience, Encouragement, Self-Awareness, Non-Attachment, and Financial Know-How.
Based on extensive research and hundreds of interviews, including more than 150 women whose annual earnings range from $100,000 to $7 million, Stanny turns each of the six-figure traits into a specific strategy for upping earnings. By rigorously fine-tuning them, listeners can, step-by-step, climb the income ladder.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It hit all the right notes, was comprehensive and read well.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The book is good, but the audiobook is incomplete! It cuts off in the middle of a sentence, 13 chapters in… Come on guys.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Really enjoyed this one. I’m generally not into self-help books but Barbara had the right amount of textbook and story as well as the personal touch.
Not only was some of the information enlightening, but it was also encouraging and made me feel like it is possible. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I would recommend this book to any woman i want to see thrive.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Every woman needs to read this book! I loved it. Gave me a lot of hope!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I found this to be very helpful in examining my current and historical mindset around money, and I also loved the inspirational, encouraging, and practical advice. I love how this advice came straight from a multitude of interviews with a variety of six-figure women. So helpful to be able to start putting patterns together around financially successful and under-earning women, and what traits they share.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Totally awesome! I have kept this on repeat and have heard it 20 times!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I try not to read too much of this kind of book these days, but this caught me in just the right mood for a bit of a motivational/cheerleading session as I was walking through the local library last weekend. I don't think it's going to propel me into the upper echelons of earning, but it did inspire some productive-feeling reflection and planning.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Terrific book with useful insight on how to be a high earner. Several concepts really hit me, including: you have to work smarter, not necessarily harder. And don't be afraid of failure. The author interviewed both high earners and low earners and provides illustrations of what works and what doesn't. Great read for women who want to push their career into the six-figure range.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I'm loving this book--highly recommended if you've ever felt that you're not earning up to your potential. Inspiring and has good exercises (now if I could just find a book that will make me do exercises!)
