“Fans of Gillian Flynn, meet your next obsession.”—BuzzFeed

Meet Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny.

They first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, despite their many differences. Kate was beautiful, wild, wealthy, and damaged. Aubrey came from the wrong side of the tracks, and wanted more than anything to distance herself from her past. Jenny was brilliant, ambitious, and determined to win big at all costs. As an unlikely alliance formed, Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny swore they would always be friends.

Twenty years later, the three women—all married, and deemed successful by any measure—are together again. But one of them is standing at the edge of a bridge…and someone is urging her to jump. How did it come to this? Who is to blame? Is it true that it’s always the husband who commits the worst crimes against his wife—or is someone else behind a sinister plot to tear these three women apart?

I’m honestly surprised that this book has such a low rating! (On goodreads). I absolutely adored it.

I listened to it on audio (Scribd) and it was fantastically well done. I believe the narrator has a lot to do with my overall impression of the book, as she was phenomenal.

I was kept guessing through the entire book, and I loved that. I was so sure it could be multiple “bad guys” that I just didn’t know. Then I was left wondering if it was even a “bad guy” at all!

I hated all 3 female characters, for different reasons. Kate was too much, Aubrey was such a mess, and Jenny seems like a self serving jerk. At least to me. They may all feel different to you. And while I hated them, I loved them too. I could see a little of my self in each of them.

The ending though- holy cow! I’m going to buy this book (paperback or ebook, not sure which!) and read it. I’m dying to rediscover this book with my eyes instead of my ears.

    Really great book!

DNF. Reading was good but around chapters 9-11, I totally lost interest. Simply could not connect in any way with any of the characters. Just not keeping my attention and feel strained to continue.

I think I would have liked this story less if the narrator had been someone else (hated most of the characters in this story!). But January LaVoy did wonderful job, her narration is enthralling yet simultaneouasly pleasant and expressive. It was impossible not to like this story. So 5 stars from me!

Good ending, a little slower pace than most of this authors books though
