About this audiobook

FUNNY! SEXY! ACTION-PACKED!

It's the science fiction epic you didn't even know you wanted! You're welcome!

CHICAGO, 2064: MANKIND CAN REWIND

Talon Avalon is a timecaster—one of a select few peace officers who can operate a TEV, the Tachyon Emission Visualizer, which records events (most specifically, crimes) that have already happened.

With crime at an all-time low, Talon has little to do except give lectures to schoolkids—and obsess on his wife's profession as a licensed sex partner.

Then one of her clients asks Talon to investigate a possible murder. When Talon uses the TEV to view the crime, the identity of the killer is unmistakable—it's him, Talon Avalon.

Someone is taking timecasting to a whole new level and using it to frame Talon. And the only way he can prove his innocence is to go off the grid—which in 2064 is a very dangerous thing to do.

Time is NOT on his side.

Featuring all of the action, thrills, and humor of other Konrath books, but set in an outrageous never-before-seen future, the Timecaster series is ecopunk on super steroids. Add in healthy doses of sex, some characters from Konrath's previous books (Talon is Jack Daniels's grandson), and a lot of outrageous ideas about technology, society, and politics, and Timecaster is a book that will appeal to anyone who likes to be entertained, even if they don't dig on sci-fi.

If you are a more sensitive (or adventurous) reader, this handy scale rates specific categories from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) to give you some idea if this is your kind of book.

YA for young men and young men at heart is how I'd categorize this. There is virtually non-stop action in the form of chases and fights. There's also a lot of sex geared toward male fantasy (a character is actually named Yummy and shows bisexual nymphomaniac tendencies). There's a fairly liberal sprinkling of humor, most geared toward teen or college age males. It feels like a screenplay rather than a novel. The setting is near future Chicago. Science touches on space time and dimensional matters. Hopefully this is helpful to rule it in or out of your reading list. Listen to the last chapter first to get the definions of the world's abbreviations as they are used very often. Wasn't my cup of tea because I felt like it wasn't geared toward me. The target group might love it.

I didn't go past the first few chapters. The main character is a literal cuck while spewing macho dialog like he's not watching his wife get shagged by the whole town.

this seems to be written as a movie.
juvenile & gratuitous sex (reminds me of Heinlein although less expository but more violent)
the chase is repetitive & the humor not funny (to me)
the ending is a let down.

la idea de los viajes en el tiempo es un tema recurrente en la scifi
aquí son viajes entre universos paralelos...nor as kinky as I expected and not as funny a little bit slow with an interesting ending

Juvenile in the extreme at times. It barely manages to be more entertaining than annoying.

The plot was very interesting, but the unnecessary sex scenes sounded like they were written by a 14 year old boy. I am all for a good sex scene but the ones in this book were ridiculous.

    a bunch of fun.

intriguing concept a lot like that Denzel Washington film with the camera that can view a finite distance in the past.

it reads like an action movie. the hero is indestructible and there is a lot of saucy stuff and drug references aplenty.

that said it is still a jolly entertaining book. it ends on a cliffhanger so the next thing I am gonna do is listen to the next book.

this is just... ick... a good premise ruined by over the top sex... where woman just can't get enough and men are unevolved jerks... the future regarding sex is just so bad in this book... wanted to know how it ended but I just felt sick... the narrator is annoying too... don't know if it's the book her him

Entertaining but no way a human being could do what's portrayed in this novel.

Awesome!! I had a blast reading this, and was trapped along for the ride from the first page. This vision of the world in the future is kind of cool but kind of frightening as well. So far, Konrath has never let me down on a fantastic read.
