About this audiobook

In the latest thriller from #1 New York Times-bestselling author Stuart Woods, Stone Barrington's newest foe has a short fuse . . . and it's just been lit.

Stone Barrington is enjoying a boating excursion off the Maine coast when a chance encounter leaves him somewhat the worse for wear. Always able to find the silver lining in even the unhappiest circumstances, Stone is pleased to discover that the authors of his misfortune are, in fact, members of a prestigious family who present a unique business opportunity, and who require a man of Stone's skills to overcome a sticky situation of their own.

The acquaintance is fortuitous indeed, for as it turns out, Stone and his new friends have an enemy in common. He's the sort of man who prefers force to finesse, and who regards any professional defeat as a personal and intolerable insult. And when Stone's sly cunning collides with his adversary's hair-trigger-temper, the results are sure to be explosive. . . .

Another exciting Stone Barrington adventure. After 41 of his stories, one gets to know the mind of Stone B. pretty well. In this case, one knew right away that the girlfriend would not last--first, she was TOO sexy and second, Holly came on his mind. Why doesn't he just marry Holly and get over it? Plot? Yep, the book has one. After the Swede, some one tries to kill him, he spends a lot of money, the bad guys get killed, Stone moves on to another woman. What else could the reader expect from a Stone Barrington novel?

Another Stone Barrington tale filled with a fair amount of quid pro quo comeuppance between Stone and the bad guys. Readers will find much to appreciate in this latest tale as the plot twists and turns lead to some unexpected events.A quick, easy . . . and thoroughly enjoyable . . . read.Highly recommended.

Another quick read about Stone Barrington, as usual it is filled with sex and with someone out to get Stone. This novel picks up were the last one left off, with the overtaking of the St. Clair industries. It was pretty basic, the typical Stuart Woods Stone Barrington book.

Fast And Loose by Stuart WoodsStone Barrington series Book # 374 StarsFrom The Book: Stone Barrington is enjoying a boating excursion off the Maine coast when a chance encounter leaves him somewhat the worse for wear. Always able to find the silver lining in even the unhappiest circumstances, Stone is pleased to discover that the authors of his misfortune are, in fact, members of a prestigious family who present a unique business opportunity, and who require a man of Stone’s skills to overcome a sticky situation of their own.The acquaintance is fortuitous indeed, for as it turns out, Stone and his new friends have an enemy in common. He’s the sort of man who prefers force to finesse, and who regards any professional defeat as a personal and intolerable insult. And when Stone’s sly cunning collides with his adversary’s hair-trigger-temper, the results are sure to be explosive. My Thoughts:I learned about book #20 that you just have to suspend your disbelief and go along with the richer than God people and multi-talented...highly connected characters in the story line. Once you get past wondering if this is how the other half really lives, the books are "entertaining" for lack of a better description. The plot and the characters do keep you reading "just one more chapter" until you find that you have not only read the "one more chapter" but that you have finished the book. some reviewers said that if you had read one Stone Barrington book you have read them all...I can't exactly dispute that statement but I do feel that the regular characters in the 37 books have been fascinating in the same way that a well loved and slightly eccentric family member would be.

Synopsis: Stone is out for a ride on his boat, goes to sleep, ends up on a fog bank and is run down by a bigger boat. Luckily for him the owners of the boat are doctors. Their relationship leads to new business ventures, a rematch with the nasty accomplice of St Clair, and a brief new romance.Review: Fun to read, but short on plot. You almost know what's going to happen with each character as he/she is introduced. The first part of the book is also badly edited.
