COW [n.]
/kaʊ/

A piece of meat; born to breed; past its sell-by-date; one of the herd.

Women don’t have to fall into a stereotype.

THE COWS is a powerful novel about three women. In all the noise of modern life, each needs to find their own voice.

It’s about friendship and being female.
It’s bold and brilliant.
It’s searingly perceptive.
It's about never following the herd.

And everyone is going to be talking about it.

Characters are amazingly deep and complicated. I loved it from the very beginning and I wish it had a sequel!

This is my first read from the author, and it was so spot on at how traumatic experience can change your behavior. How people are quick to judge, quick to be labeled and rarely does it seem like people can empathize women especially for their choices. Especially when comparing birth control or birthing children.
Great read. You'll want to scream at the book ( in great frustration! ?when reading a few times about certain characters. Just read it. Great holiday/weekend/bus book.

Absolutely fantastic read. Characters felt so real. So wonderful to read the lives of three very strong, very different women.

this might be the first time i awarded 5 stars to a book from this genre. i love the humour, and how it made the issues the characters are dealing with more readable without distracting from the seriousness of the themes...its not a perfect book, but i felt for these ladies and i cried at the end.

The last week has been my darkest. I haven’t even left my front door. I even asked the Tesco delivery man to leave everything on the step, and signed the receipt by having him pass it through the letterbox. I don’t want to see anyone. I’m not ready to face the world. What did I become? I look in the bathroom mirror, and see my hair is growing back. I may look like a soldier, but I feel like a victim of war. Dismemberment, or death? Are they really my choices? What a bleak existence. The doorbell goes and I freeze. I don’t care who it is. It rings again.Having read the blurb I was expecting this to be funnier. Not really my kind of book so it's getting 3/5.
