SummaryNico Toscani, is part of the Toscani mob boss family. He rules in Las Vegas, and no one crosses him. He is good to those that are loyal to him and those that disobey suffer the consequences. He meets his match and daughter of his sworn enemy Mia Cordano. Mia has worked hard to separate herself as much as possible from the crime family she was born into. She is a legalized hacker, and when she is called in to do a job for a gambling hotel in Las Vegas she is more than eager, especially with the funds and the reputation it will give her. But after finishing the job, a guard pinches her ass and she slices him with her knife. Yeah a mob daughter you don't want to cross. But she is brought to Nico to pay the consequences for her actions. But Mia isn't afraid of Nico, and is bold and daring and Nico is captivated by this woman who was once a girl he fell hard for but could never be his. And even though he has other obligations, he can't resist the urge to protect and love this woman who heats his blood and makes him feel again...The HeroNico Toscani, lost his mother when he was just a boy and wanted to be just like his father. To defend their family and protect and follow his ways which weren't the most desired among crime families. One that held honor and loyalty. But when his father was murdered, his uncle took over and refuses to give the title over to Nico even though he rightly deserves it. He wants to take it back but he must handle it very delicately or he could lose. Nico was one sexy hero and boy I loved the alpha in him. Definitely will give you shivers. He is total bad ass but not creepy and scary at all. I loved the way he treats those that work for him and the way he is with his buddies. His reactions were just fabulous to see unravel and I did like the way his character is so bold and dominates the room. The HeroineMia grew up in the Cordano crime family, but she has worked hard to distance herself as much as possible. She wears outlandish clothes, is a hacker and got a college degree. She stands up to her father and has a temper. And boy I loved her. Despite the way her father treats her, I liked that she doesn't back down when its something she believes in. She has goals and dreams and isn't afraid to go after them. You have to admire that. I did enjoy seeing the way she handles our hero Nico. Even though there may be a part of her that fears him because she doesn't know him, she doesn't let it show. She has this wild untamed personality that is crazy and fun and I got a kick out of her character. She is protective of her younger sister especially. I enjoyed the way she handles problems and seeks solutions.Plot and Story LineIn Nico, the first book in the latest series by Castille. We get an introduction to a Crime Boss romance. Now this has a Romeo and Juliet type of feel only you get a HEA. Both are from rival crime families and so tension is pretty high in this book. But you don't really realize how forbidden their relationship is until later in the book. Their first meeting is sexy as sin and will give you shivers down the spine. I loved both of these characters. Their personalities are so opposite from each other in many ways. Nico is domineering and commanding and doesn't take no for an answer. And Mia, well she is crazy and fun and is unconventional. Not your typical future mob boss wife. But they just fit for each other in the ways that really matter. They get each other and they get the life they were born into. The emotional intimacy they build in this book is what really drew me in. You love it. You've never met a man like me, a man who can challenge and respect you, a man worthy of a woman like you The sexual tension is high but you see so much development in the emotional side to their bond that you just get drawn in. I honestly couldn't put this book down and didn't want to. Their story was engaging and highly addicting and I can't wait to see what see brings us in Luca. The CoverJust a gorgeous cover we have here right? I just LOVE it!! I love the abs with the random placed tats.Overall ViewNico is a forbidden romance that will leave you curling your toes in delight!! TALENT TO ADMIRE!

I always enjoy reading mafia books set in Vegas. They always make me think of the golden age of glitz and glamour that was the '60's . And apparently I'm not the only one. Nico loved that era, too and tried to live in it a little. I liked that although the world would see him as a bad Mafioso, who does nothing but commit crimes and brutalize people, he was actually a little more in the whitecollar crime business. He didn't hurt unless strictly needed. Mia, on the other hand, seemed ready to do anything to stay as far from the crimes of her mafia family. She was definitely her own person in her punk princess way. I can't really see them standing together and someone thinking that they made a perfect pair in sight alone, but deep down they were perfect for each other. Looking forward to more in this series, because Ms. Castille never writes anything but awesome stories with characters that you want to be friends with (and sometimes a lot more than just friends). Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Nico by Sarah CastilleRuin and Revenge #1Hot alpha males abound in this book and each one deserves to have his story told! I applaud Ms Castille for creating a book that does not make the Mafia a nice place but a place that some call home and why they might do so. In some ways Mia Cardano and Nico Toscani have a bit of the Romeo and Juliet going on for them since they are from feuding (Mafia crime) families and even have a blood feud going on BUT in other ways the two are so much stronger than Shakespeare’s hero and heroine and their story a whole lot darker. Neither have had an easy life and both have expectations put on them by their families that do not go along with their own. They walk a tightrope that should a misstep be made while crossing could be the end of them. Mia is smart, strong, savvy, sensual and a handful unwilling to be the “Mafia Princess” or even pretend to play the part – she pays for that. Nico has a crew that he trusts and is high up in the Toscani family BUT with his father dead and others in the family holding the power-seat he believes he should be in things are a bit dicey from time to time. Set in Las Vegas with more than one Mafia family wanting to be the only player there is a lot going on. This first book sets things up for the power plays that will no doubt occur in the future books of the series and also provides a HEA for Nico and Mia. I loved this book, look forward to reading the next in the series and would like to thank NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC. This is my honest review. 5 Stars

A great new series by Sarah Castille.A complex Mafia story involving the Cardano family and the Toscani's. Mia Cordano is working hard with her computer security business, she likes to dress like a punk rocker, her clothes are very badass and so is her attitude, but for all this she still is a Mafia princess and her father, Don Cordano, a evil man who will use his daughter to get what he wants, even violence, has made a deal with Don Toscani promising Mia will marry his son Tony. She refuses. She hates Tony but has met Nico Toscani before, a bastard son from the first Toscani, when she worked on security in his casino, she goes to him for help and makes him a proposition, they marry and later get an annulment. A first he refuses but later changes his mind, so they get married.Mia never wanted to marry into mob but after a time she falls in love with Nico and a devastating secret she's been keeping threatens their fragile marriage. There's plenty of thrills and suspense in this exciting Mafia/romance, and the chemistry between Nico and Mia is amazing. The story had a very well developed plot, the action was breath taking at times, it was a hard book to put down. I'm very much looking forward to the next Ruin & Revenge novel, and I highly recommend this book!
