- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5About halfway through the book I figured it out and it became a lot less interesting. Sophie is a teacher who cares for her abusive mother who now has early Alzheimer’s. She begins remembering an imaginary friend named shadow who might be back to cause supernatural trouble. By the time the author starts dropping really heavy-handed clues as to what is going on I was hoping for something a little more interesting. The ending is pretty fantastical, I think the author could have picked something more believable with better results. Still a fine book to listen to while driving and waiting for my book credits to reset.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5the story is very straight-forward and Sophie from part1 had no sympathy with me, her mother was right, she has chosen to be a victim in every situation in her life and didn't do anything about it, but part2 turned out to be more interesting and swift.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I figured it out about halfway through but still a good read. The narrator sounded a bit too old for the part and her American accent was a bit jolting, but it was a good twist at the end. A light but interesting mystery read.
