About this audiobook

Popular parenting blogger Rebecca Eanes believes that parenting advice should be about more than just getting kids to behave. Struggling to maintain a meaningful connection with her two little ones and frustrated by the lack of emotionally aware books for parents, she began to share her own insights with readers online. Her following has grown into a thriving community-hundreds of thousands strong.

In this eagerly anticipated guide, Eanes shares her hard-won wisdom for overcoming limiting thought patterns and recognizing emotional triggers, as well as advice for connecting with kids at each stage, from infancy to adolescence. This heartfelt, insightful advice comes not from an "expert," but from a learning, evolving parent. Filled with practical, solution-oriented advice, this is an empowering guide for any parent who longs to end the yelling, power struggles, and downward spiral of acting out, punishment, resentment, and shame-and instead foster an emotional connection that helps kids learn self-discipline, feel confident, and create lasting, loving bonds.

This was a book has great advice, tips, and best of all a new approach to dealing with out kids, rather than our so called, ‘traditional’ ways of parenting. The ways I’ve handled my kids, which doesn’t work, were mentioned almost verbatim in this book. All the things I dislike about parenting, all the hard times were presented in a new outlook that reflects the life that we are living in society today. We can’t spank or we risk be labeled and have our children taken away, but as I have felt strongly all along, we don’t need to and it’s not the answer. All we know is what our parents taught them and most of them, well, are old and have old fashioned views. Nothing against parents from previous eras because they didn’t have the research and knowledge we do now, and what our parents parents were taught is practically barbaric and not tolerated today. Thank you to this author who broke it down, in a organized and easy to read/ listen to format. Also, thank you for touching upon real situations and everything I have been struggling with as a single parent of a toddler. I’m going to listen to it one more time, just to make sure I didn’t miss anything to add to my notebook of emergency solution options, instead of yelling. Excellent job!

Really good book. This book has good tactics and strategies when you don't know what to do. I also like that the author touches upon brain development throughout the ages a childhood and adolescence. I would recommend reading this book and also Parenting With Presence. Changing the way you think will create different results.

Some good advice but I didn't like the general structure of the book. Some parts can be just skiped.
