About this audiobook
When T. J. Wray lost her forty-three-year-old brother, her grief was deep and enduring and, she soon discovered, not fully acknowledged. Despite the longevity of adult sibling relationships, surviving siblings are often made to feel as if their grief is somehow unwarranted. After all, when an adult sibling dies, he or she often leaves behind parents, a spouse, and even children-all of whom suffer a more socially recognized type of loss.
Based on the author's own experiences, as well as those of many others, Surviving the Death of a Sibling helps adults who have lost a brother or sister to realize that they are not alone in their struggle. Just as important, it teaches them to understand the unique stages of their grieving process, offering practical and prescriptive advice for dealing with each stage.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wish I didn’t need this book, but I do. Meaningful read and it certainly hit close to home. Well worth the time to read this. Thank you.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I hope you are never in need of this book. Losing an adult sibling is tough, but T.J. Wray's book does offer some helpful suggestions. Through interviews with others who have lost adult siblings as well as her own experience, Wray shows the wide range of emotions and difficulties that surviving siblings can face. Two recommendations stick out for me. First, find a "grief partner" with whom you can share your feelings, regardless of how raw those feelings are. Second, maintain a grief journal to help you work through your grief. These suggestions, along with her other ideas, will hopefully make the process of grieving more manageable.
