- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5While this book has some good ideas it still has the component of you as the parent controlling the child. Many if not most children resist being controlled. This book did not work for my son. Thank God I found other books on positive parenting which worked much better. Rather then essentially dog training my child I focused on inpowering him to make his own decisions.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Comprehensive system and encouraging guidance. Good narration. Applicable material.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Lets use it. And I will come back...nice one. H
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My 4 year old is so much happier with this new way of discipline - my husband and I love it also. Such a more peaceful home!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing book. The word "magic" in the title sounds silly, but this simple system works. I started using it with my 5 kids and it almost eliminated all the fighting after only a couple days.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really helped me with my 4 & 5 year olds & provided some great reflection on how I might have done things differently when my 13 year old was younger.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I'd give the techniques at least 4/5 stars, but the presentation leaves much to be desired. Put succinctly, this book's origin as a pamphlet is obvious. It should be rewritten from scratch or at least heavily edited. I would have organized the material much differently, possibly arranging techniques, advice, and tips according to age groups. Even so, the content is quite good.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have known about this method of discipline for several years, but have only just gotten around to reading the book in regards to implementing the entire strategy. This strategy works wonders with my children. The only thing that I question about this book is that the cover implies that this can be used for children over 2. Since I currently have a 2 year old, I tend to disagree that this strategy works with a child so young. I would feel confident that it would start to work with a 3 year old, but 2 is just too young. Otherwise, if you are at your wits end over how to discipline your children effectively, then this is the book you need.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fantastic! The routines he suggests for bedtime etc. aren't quite right for us, but the efficient, effective approach to discipline has made things go much more smoothly for me with my kids, and the reminder to enjoy them has been great too. Life is better now that I've read this and am using it, so it's five stars.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked this book. It's practical and achievable advice on disciplining kids (and growing relationships with your kids)
Great potential as a manual to take charge of a hectic household with the end goal to make life happier, more harmonious, and to be able to actually enjoy your kids more.
Other reviews took issue with the tone of the book. I can see how some parents who are in awe and worship of their little darlings might find the tone off-putting (I don't mean that as sarcastically as it sounds) it was just right for me, as I'm a little irreverent about everything (not just parenting) myself.
Check it out. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This system is very doable and works. It helped staff and kids a lot at the residential school where I interned.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very easy to read & implement. We have been using this technique for 2 years with our sons and have had very good results.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a great technique for disciplining children. I began using it when my son was about three, and it still works (although I don't have to use it very often now at all).
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you stick with this system, it can be very effective for some children. It's definitely worth your time to read and try!
