About this audiobook
Most of us know we own too much stuff. We feel the weight and burden of our clutter, and we tire of cleaning and managing and organizing.
While excess consumption leads to bigger houses, faster cars, fancier technology, and cluttered homes, it never brings happiness. Rather, it results in a desire for more. It redirects our greatest passions to things that can never fulfill, and it distracts us from the very life we wish we were living.
But it doesn't have to be this way. In The More of Less, Joshua Becker helps you:
recognize the life-giving benefits of owning less
realize how all the stuff you own is keeping you from pursuing your dreams
craft a personal, practical approach to decluttering your home and life
experience the joys of generosity
learn why the best part of minimalism isn't a clean house; it's a full life
It's time to own your possessions instead of letting them own you. After all, the beauty of minimalism isn't in what it takes away. It's in what it gives.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I absolutely loved it! It's an instant classic to me, and already one of my top five personal improvement/self help books.
Even though I'm already a quasi minimalist (more likely a "mediumist"), I never realized the broader aspects - and even spiritual dimension - of this lifestyle. I was also really thrilled that the author shares the same Christian world view as myself, which makes the book even more life changing.
Thank you Joshua!1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love the book, but the reading of it I found a bit frustrating. He tends to trail off at the end of sentences and say the last word quieter than everything else. Not great if you're listening while driving. I had to turn the volume up way higher to be able to catch everything. That being said, the content is great. Highly recommend the book if you are interested in minimalism!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5excellent book, I highly recommend it if you are on a journey to simplify your life and make room for what truly matters
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent discussion of both the practical approaches to a minimalist life, as well as the fruits of following such a path.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved this one! The principles that Becker introduces rang true for me in a way that the Kondo book did not. He gave practical tips on how to execute minimalism in your own life. He also talked about determining your goals before you begin the process. His point on minimalizing so that you can focus on what's important is exactly how I feel.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The book show us that "less is more" that when we remove the excess from our lives we become so much richer. This is not a practical how to guide, more of a celebration of less.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The More of Less: Finding the Life You Want Under Everything You Own by Joshua Becker is an interesting book. He chronicles his experience with becoming a minimalist. He offers encouragement and personal examples for ridding your life of un-necessary clutter that keeps you bound to a never ending cycle of consumerism.Becker doesn’t, however, give much practical advice to newcomers to the minimalist movement. Much of his book is repetition of information commonly found just about everywhere. He doesn’t add anything new to the pot. There is one point worth repeating—organizing is not minimizing. I tend to forget that! His book is well written and easy to read. A newcomer wishing to begin the journey of reducing their consumption of ‘things’ will find it helpful and inspiring—but to those of us who have been on the road awhile it is of little use other than reminding us to be vigilant against filling up the empty spaces with more clutter.
