About this audiobook

Jenny’s single-parent life revolves around her kids and her job, which means that hours of Animal Planet and strings of computer code are about all she has time for. Not that Jenny’s looking for adventure or romance—she’s the type of woman who believes in playing it safe.

When Jenny is called upon to do some consulting for the Bourbon Street Boys—a New Orleans private security firm—she knows she should stay away. They conduct surveillance on known criminals and put themselves in harm’s way pretty much every day, so No is the obvious answer…Problem is, there’s a guy on the team with a body to die for and a dimple that just won’t quit luring Jenny in, tempting her to throw all caution to the wind.

Will Jenny take the risk or will she do what she’s always done—play it safe and wait for the right time?

I love all books written by this author! She is incredible! None of her story sounds similar at all. I will be reading all of her books!

Jenny and Dev are single parents, Jenny has three kids and is divorced and Dev has a son with Cerebral Palsy. Dev works for Bourbon Street Security and they meet when Jenny's sister May, offers her some freelance work. When they first meet it's not love at first sight but despite that you can tell somethings going to happen. They don't have much in common physically, Jenny is not much over five foot tall and Dev is, well, he's a very BIG man, big muscles and touching seven feet tall. You would think that with that size he would be full of alpha attitude and confidence, but no he was like a gentle teddy bear with insecurities about his size, but they did have something in common, their love for their children, it was paramount. The story follows the trials and tribulations of being a divorced mum and working though the struggles of bringing up three children and working on her own. There's a love story which is very slowly growing through out. I found this book to be very amusingly written and realistic, a great read, I loved it. I would highly recommend it!

I'm really enjoying this series so far. I definitely liked the first book better, but this one was a little different. The romance between Dev and Jenny was sweet. My only issue, and this is totally on me, was the height difference. Jenny is five foot nothing and Dev is seven feet tall. In my head every time I pictured them, it was funny looking and would pull me out of the story. Oh well, I'll keep on reading books in this series cause I am definitely enjoying the writing style of the author. And, also, I'm really looking forward to Lucky's story. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Lift-hearted, easy reading romance about Kate a bumbling traffic reporter who's only in the job because of her love for Brian, a co-worker and best friend - but not one she's trusted enough to tell. Until Brian tells her he's in love - with someone else. Now she's done the most spontaneous thing she's ever done flying to Las Vegas to stop Brian from marrying. When she gets to the chapel she stops the wedding alright, but not Brian's; instead it's a total stranger's. What happens is sweet and just enough warmth to make you smile while you read. This book is for anyone who wants something light and sweet.
