About this audiobook

The chemistry between Oxford University students Evelyn Lakewood and Jared Calmburry was immediate. After uncovering their shared and magical legacy—that they are the sole descendants of Merlin and the Lady of the Lake—their connection seems fated. When Jared sacrifices himself to save Evelyn’s life and is carried off by his demon nemesis, Morgana, Evelyn must marshal every ounce of courage she possesses.

In order to rescue him, she enters the enchanted world of her ancestors: Avalon. Facing demons, monsters, and magical peril at every turn, Evelyn will stop at nothing to save Jared. But will she discover the strength she needs to finish the journey? And will she make it in time to be reunited with her true love?

I loved this espionage themed regency of well to do widow, Phillippa Benning, leader of the ton, who accidentally gets herself tangled up into a French plot with "presumably" the notorious English agent, The Blue Raven. Of course, she is taken aback to find that the notorious war hero is none other than the bespectacled, gangly and bookish Marcus Worth! Little does she know! What an entertaining romance, filled with dry wit and plenty of red herrings! Looking forward to continuing with this Blue Raven series! A keeper!

I really liked this book. The characters were all interesting, even the ones that you didn't like very much. It was interesting the progression, growth of Philly throughout the story and the love/hate relationship that her and Marcus have is one that everyone can attest to in some way or another. I really enjoyed reading it.

Fun and a little fluffy. The heroine, Phillipa, walks just the right edge between being annoying enough to want to smack but not enough to throw the book out the window. However, some of her personality changes throughout the book were overdone ("I am in love with a good person, so I spontaneously start acting like a good person!" and "Oh no! He hates me! I am back to my old ways!")But, overall, it was fun and enjoyable, and I look forward to the sequel.

Philippa Benning is a beautiful young widow, one of the leading lights of the Ton. She has her sights on the delicious Lord Broughton. Marcus Worth is the third son of a baron, reduced to shuffling papers at the War Department since Napoleon's defeat. He has his sights on a vicious French spy whom he had thought dead. Their separate paths lead them to a fateful meeting in a sarcophagus. This took a while for me to get into, but it's ultimately quite good, if not as wonderful as Noble's first book.
