      I started listening to this book not knowing whether it was going to present a revisionist version of biblical views on homosexual behavior - or the traditional interpretation. It was reassuring to listen to the biblical texts and references that confirm the commonsense view that homosexual behavior - like other socially disapproved sexual behaviors, for example incest and pedophilia, is immoral and unnatural. This view is anathema to the current public opinion formed by decades of successful LGBT political activism. The arguments in this book relating to the concept of “same sex marriage” were particularly convincing.

      Dr. Kevin de Young provides the reader with an apologetic proposition supporting the orthodox traditions regarding homosexuality. Steeped heavily in scripture, this is a meaty theological exploration of the highly charged and controversial issues of homoeroticism, same sex attraction, homosexuality and legalised same sex marriage. I highly recommend this book for those who want to understand"the whole counsel of God" surrounding these issues.

      Basically I am opposed to the supposition that homosexuality is a topic that must be delved into. Homosexuality has pretty much always been around and paying so much attention to the topic seems more sensational than theological. Examining how people choose to have sex isn’t thought provoking or timely— it’s unnecessary. Homosexuality is a perversion whether you call it same sex relations or any other modern iteration. But to each their own.

      DeYoung clearly states in the beginning the aim of the book and then he deals with this difficult question masterfully. He also regurlar challenges the reader. I would definitely recommend this book to any committed follower of Christ.

      It had many good points and does an excellent job of quoting the Bible for relevant references. I did not agree with the book 100% but I do believe it is a good book to help people see what the Bible says about this issue.

      This is a really good resource on the title. He has two parts: looking at the five key passages ( Gen 1-2; Gen 19; Lev 18, 20; Rom 1; ITim 1), and then addressing the main counterarguments (the Bible talks about it very little; a better kind of homosexuality; gluttony and divorce; it isn't fair; wrong side of history; God is a God of love). He writes with a lot of compassion, but also resolution. He deals only in an appendix with gay marriage.Other books that might be good: Defending Marriage: Twelve Arguments for Sanity by A. Esolen; works by Robert P. George; The Intolerance of Tolerance by Carson; What is Marriage? by Ryan Anderson and RP George.This would be a good item for honest inquiry from the other side.
