About this audiobook
Lauren Gabriel spent many years of her childhood in foster homes, wishing her mother would come back for her and be the family she needs. Now twenty-years-old, she still longs for a place that she can truly call home. Her work as a cashier is unfulfilling, and at Christmas it’s unbearable with the songs and carols and chatter of Christmas that she hears throughout the day.
When Lauren ends her shift one night, she finds herself driving aimlessly in order to avoid returning to her lonely apartment. And when she witnesses a car accident she is suddenly pulled into the small town of Grandon, first as a witness but then as a volunteer for the annual fundraiser for Glory’s Place, a center for single mothers and families who need assistance. Could this town and its people be the home she has always longed for?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was the sweetest, most heartwarming story. I’ve never read this author before, but will seek out her other works now. This will be a yearly read to remind me to keep joy and service to others as my goal during the hectic business of the Christmas season.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a great Christmas book. The inclusion of foster children and disadvantaged children added so much interest to this book. I highly recommend the book for a fun Christmas read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great upbeat story of how you don't need blood to be loved and family. It has believable, interesting characters that push the storyline to maintain interest. I enjoyed this story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a heart warming story! This is the first book I have read or listened to by Donna VanLiere. I am an instant fan and look forward to her other books (I was so glad to find out there are several more!). I was searching for an author who writes about places and people you would love to see and meet. Her writing has just enough description, and something interesting happening in every chapter. Not to give anything away, but it’s a real ‘Feel Good’ type of book. I will recommend it to all my friends. Now, on to the next!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I wish authors would get voice actors to read their books. This woman's attempt at an English accent was grating, making me wish that character wouldn't say anything. Other than that it's a decent story, a bit too much talk of God for my taste.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Anything like a Hallmark movie is perfect at this time of year. I was sad it had to end!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An awesome story. A perfect reminder of the meaning of Christmas!
