About this audiobook
Is there credible proof that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God? In The Case for Christ,Lee Strobel, former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune and New York Times bestselling author, retraces his own spiritual journey from atheism to faith and builds a captivating case for Christ's divinity.
In this revised and updated edition of The Case for Christ, Strobel cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools such as Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis, asking hard-hitting questions--and taking a deeper look at the evidence from the fields of science, philosophy, and history.
In his comprehensive investigation, Strobel doesn't shy away from challenging questions, including:
- How reliable is the New Testament?
- Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible?
- Is Jesus who he said he was?
- Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event?
- What does all of the evidence point to--and what does it mean today?
Winner of the Gold Medallion Book Award and twice nominated for the Christian Book of the Year Award, The Case for Christ has been adapted into a major motion picture and has now sold over 5 million copies worldwide.
This edition includes scores of revisions and additions, including updated material on archaeological and manuscript discoveries, fresh recommendations for further study, and an interview with the author that tells dramatic stories about the book's impact, provides behind-the-scenes information, and responds to critiques of the book by skeptics.
Strobel's thorough examination reads like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it's not fiction: it's a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure. Discover The Case for Christ today.
Praise for The Case for Christ:
"Nobody knows how to sift truth from fiction like an experienced investigative reporter, or to argue a case like someone trained at Yale Law School. Lee Strobel brings both qualifications to this remarkable book. In addition to his own tremendous testimony as atheist-turned-Christian, the author marshals the irrefutable depositions of recognized "expert witnesses" to build his ironclad case for Jesus Christ. The Case for Christ sets a new standard among existing contemporary apologetics."
--D. James Kennedy, PhD, senior minister, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Decent writing style but filled with bias that the author doesn’t even try to hide, as well as misinformation under the argument of “there’s just no other way!” You had the opportunity to speak to someone who isn’t even a non-believer and solidify that belief. Instead, I’m left wondering if any of the men who took part in this book understand what the Bible is at all. It was a effort for sure, and an offensive one at that. The arguments are narrow. The questions posed are restrictive. I just don’t buy that Lee Strobel was ever a skeptic.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/50/0 Not based on facts. No actual trusted sources from the same time period Jesus was supposed to have lived. The New Testament was written well after the fact. I don’t think this book will change anyone’s mind either way.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was a good book overall. There are some weaknesses in it and some weird stuff. He condemned the Book of Mormon, basically randomly. He just kind of tossed it to the side without actually examining it. His focus on the Bible and dismissing everything else because he didn’t see anything on the surface is a major weakness in his case. He also failed to prove that Jesus is god. He just relied on other facts to prove other things then assumed that the trinitarian view is true because that is the viewpoint he was examining. If he looked into other beliefs I am certain that he would have come to a different conclusion. But other than a few glaring flaws, the book does make a pretty solid case for the Bible and mainstream Christianity.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is one of the most satisfying and comprehensive treatments of both text-internal and historical evidence that I have seen. The writing is compelling and accessible to readers of many ages and theological backgrounds. Having read it three times in the past nine years, I am more able to see now how this type of work is insufficient to replace the Holy Spirit in opening someone's heart to the truth, but Louis Lapides' comment in the book still holds true, that in our day and age, "No one can say, 'There is no information.'" This book is a fantastic jumping-off point for getting that information, both for believers looking for ways to defend the faith and for non-believers looking to evaluate whether there really is any good evidence.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Hard to know how anyone after reading or listening to this book with an open mind (and heart) wouldn’t become a Christian.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of the best objective accounts that examines the evidence for Jesus living, dying, and raising from the dead to die for the sins of others.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I've been a Christian for years, and this book still brought up some of the questions I had. I loved how they were answered - we won't always have the answers to things, but the answers we do have should be enough.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The author asks relevant questions that receive studied, researched, convincing answers. This book is great also for the wavering Christian seeking information and confidence.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5¡Excelente! Respuestas directas a preguntas difíciles de contestar con evidencias sólidas, desde un punto de vista humano, es decir no necesariamente espiritual.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Laughably bad 'apologetic'.
Strobel was a Christian for almost 20 years before he wrote this tripe.
Riddled with logical fallacies and uncritical acceptance of the 'evidence'.
Strobel's Christian basis is on full display as he only interviewed Christian scholars, he spoke to NO critics of Christianity at all. The book is a joke. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A Life changing book. If you struggle with doubts about the Christian faith, this book will h help answer a lot of your questions. The evidence you hear in this book presented to Lee by respected scholars, not just your local pastor. You can fact check the information presented. It checks out. Lee even gives other recommended reads for more information.
