Would've given a 5 stars, but for the typical cliche! Get you facts straight first. Before writing, it's not that hard! It's really pisses me off! Russia is a boogy man again! First of all, all the different republics in Soviet times were encouraged to keep their own language and culture. Why do you think they have it after almost a century of "upression"! Switch on your common sense for once!

The ultimate comfort read. Books, Scottish Highlands, fresh eggs and cheese, ceilidhs, northern lights, rugged farmers, troubled teen, gossipy old men, and a lovely bookworm introvert who gets to be the protagonist.

My favorite Jenny Colgan book. Love the characters. Great friendships and love interest. We see timid Nina really come into her own and take chances, becoming more and more fearless. Just a sweet book that I never get tired of listening to. Narrator Lucy Price-Lewis is perfect for this book and pretty much any Jenny Colgan book.

Sometimes you simply find the right book at the right time. This is a true comfort read about ditching your life in the city, moving to the country, finding the right relationship, peace within yourself. Add books, books, and more books, making this one bibliophiles will love. It's like being wrapped in a warm hug!

I love books as much as the next person but this story just made me laugh because of how unrealistic it would be today for a whole town to drop everything and become obsessed with books like they’ve never seen them before. The story was also just soooooo slow and could have definitely been about 10 chapters shorter. A sweet story but not my favourite.

Not my kind of book. I would have enjoyed it better if there was a serious story to talk about instead of some booklover's everyday life that sounds so much as reality.

The audiobook kept me up to page 147, then I DNF'D the book.

For some reason I usually can't STAND listening to audiobooks with British narrators...which is really odd, because I'm a bit of an Anglophile, and quite enjoy British movies. AAAAanywaaaaay....in the end it was the excellent narration (and her ability to successfully deliver SEVERAL accents) that really won me over and kept me interested in this book. Not necessarily my usual kind of read, but the world/community building was absolutely charming.

Solid story of a young woman coming into her own. Unusual settings and improbable actions keep this from being predictable

    This book was so good.
I feel like I want to go to Scotland and be in this beautiful countryside.
A feeling, I can confirm, that I have never had before .
Also, I like how Nina but acted anyway and then she wasn’t lost anymore.

I totally loved the rural atmosphere and calming descriptions of nature, life in the village. I could feel like in Scotland. I was only disappointed with the love story of Nina. Didn’t enjoy that at all.
