About this audiobook
USA TODAY Bestseller!
“Incredible storytelling and intricately drawn characters. You won’t want to miss Twilight at Blueberry Barrens.” —Brenda Novak, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author
“I need you to keep these girls safe . . .”
Kate Mason has devoted herself to caring for her family’s blueberry barrens. But after her fields stop producing fruit, she’s forced to come up with alternative ways to make a living.
Renting out the small cottage on her property seems an obvious choice, but it won’t be enough. When entrepreneur Drake Newham shows up looking not only for a place to rent but also for a nanny for his two nieces, it’s almost too good to be true. And maybe it is—because Drake brings with him dangerous questions about who might be out to kill his family.
The more time Kate spends with Drake and the girls, the more difficult it becomes to hide her attraction to him. But a family crisis isn’t exactly the ideal time to pursue a romance.
Meanwhile, Kate learns that her uncle—in prison for murder—has escaped. Add to that a local stalker who won’t leave her alone, and Kate is looking over her shoulder at every turn. With threats swirling from multiple directions, she wonders if her blueberry fields will ever flourish again . . . or if this twilight is her last.
Set on the beautiful coast of Maine, Twilight at Blueberry Barrens brings together suspense, romance, and the hope that one day new life will come again.

Reviews for Twilight at Blueberry Barrens

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The author does a good job creating a suspenseful story. There are plenty of bad guys to good around, and more than one story thread and mystery to solve. But I found the romance to be a bit on the sappy side. I enjoyed the tale - the plot was intriguing and the characters were interesting and well developed. This third book concludes the series and wraps things up nicely.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I can always count on this author to write a book that keeps me glued to the pages. Her writing style is very poetic with words that flow with ease. I love a story that has strong characters and this one is filled with them. I loved how the scenery was described and learned a lot about how blueberries are grown. Kate has her hands full trying to keep the family business going. It is not an easy task. As the crops falter she must devise a way to get extra income. The little cottage on her land would be a perfect place to fix up and rent out. I think I would have liked to live at the cottage myself. It sounded very quaint and peaceful. I was a bit overwhelmed with all that Kate had been through and thought how strong she was to be able to continue being focused on the day to day chores. She certainly has had a rough time with cancer, and several family members going off to prison. Drake has suddenly taken custody of his nieces when a tragic accident takes his brother and sister-in-law. He can't believe that his brother had anything to do with the unforeseen tragedy. Drake can't let it go and wants to investigate the senseless deaths on his own. Drake finds the perfect place to stay with his nieces at Kate's newly remodeled cottage. I loved how Kate took to the little girls right away. I think it helped her to begin to heal from everything she has gone through. The book has several ongoing story lines that I found to be very intriguing. Kate senses that someone is after her . Is it one of her relatives that has revenge in mind? Drake is determine to find out how his brother and sister-in-law really died. Will he find the answer he needs? The story has some intense moments that give readers twists and turns. If you enjoy reading books with intrigue and a bit of romance I highly recommend this book. The author does a great job of showing how important trust and faith is. No matter what we are going through we must remember to have faith and remind ourselves we are important to Him. I received a copy of this book from The Fiction Guild. The review is my own opinion.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Twilight at Blueberry BarrensColleen CobleBook Summary: Kate Mason has always found solace in her family's blueberry barrens. But are they giving her a false sense of security? Kate has devoted herself to keeping her family's blueberry barrens thriving. But when blossom blight devastates her blueberry fields, she's forced to come up with alternative ways to replace that income. Fixing up the small cottage on her property as a rental seems an obvious choice, but it won't be enough. When Drake Carver drives by with his two nieces in tow, looking not only for a place to rent for the summer but also for a nanny for the girls, it's almost too good to be true. Drake is a judge whose brother and sister-in-law died in an accident shortly after he received a threat that his family would suffer if he didn't drop a high profile case. Is there a connection? This remote area of Maine seems like the perfect place for him to keep his nieces safe until he determines if they're in danger. Drake and Kate constantly lock horns; having never been a parent before, he gives his nieces free reign. Kate won't stand for their disrespect and keeps challenging Drake to set a higher standard. Even though Kate has given up on having children because of the chemo she had to take, she finds herself oddly drawn to this improvised family. But Drake begins to fear that he's putting Kate in danger as well. Meanwhile, Kate learns that her uncle—in prison for murder—has escaped. Add to that a stalker whose sights are set on her, and Kate is looking over her shoulder at every turn. With danger swirling from multiple directions, it may be a question of who gets to her first.Review: Fantastic storyline and enjoyable characters. I found this to be the best of the series, along with the book being one that could be read as a stand alone. There was a lot going on at one time. Which made for a fun ride, at times so much was going on it was like an out of control car. It was worth every minute. I found this story to be the best book Colleen Coble has written. The twists were clever and worth every one of them. Kate and Drake were the leads, however the mystery was so intense that it was not until the end that the layers of this onion were so interwoven and well written. The mystery played out so clever that the end was too fast. That is really my only complaint - the end came to fast.I would like to thank Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Title: Twilight at Blueberry Barrens (Sunset Cove #3)Author:Colleen CoblePages:327Year:2016Publisher: Thomas NelsonMy rating is4 stars.Kate Mason is a survivor. She has been cured of aplastic anemia and weathered her mother, uncle and father all going to prison. However, she now faces a financial crisis. Her blueberry crop for this year has failed and she doesn’t know where she will get the money to live on for the next year. Raising blueberries is the only job she has ever known and she has stayed on her mother’s property to take care of them while her mother is in prison. She has never thought much about doing any other job. She decides to fix up a cottage on her property and rent it. She also has noticed odd things around the house like lights being turned off, doors unlocked, tools in areas where she didn’t leave them, but she blames it on “chemo” brain. Plus she is still fighting off the heeby jeebies from the horrible discovery she and her sister made while out bird watching. She unexpectedly finds a tenant for her cottage very quickly as well as a position as the tenant’s nanny. The tenants are Drake Newham and his two young nieces who have recently been orphaned after their father, Drake’s brother, is thought to have killed his wife and then himself. Drake doesn’t believe that verdict as he knows his brother would never leave his daughters alone in the world; he loved them dearly. Drake is in town to investigate on his own and bring the killer to justice. He hires Kate to look after his nieces. What he doesn’t expect is the attraction he has for Kate. As Kate helps Drake with his investigation, more strange things happen and more danger abounds. If you like to read about mysteries, romance, murders, faith, stalkers and much more action, then this is the book for you. I would recommend reading the prior two books in the series first as this is a continuous story. They are titled, The Inn at Ocean’s Edge and Mermaid Moon, respectively. This story centers around Kate Mason, the twin of Claire Dellamare whose story is featured in book one of the series. Kate is resilient, strong and has a deep faith in God. I loved how she would talk to Emma and Phoebe about nature or some other topic, but would always weave God into their conversations. She used her time well as teaching moments about faith and God. I pray to be more aware of those teachable moments whether I’m talking with an adult or a child. This series would make a great Christmas gift!Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog.
