About this audiobook

My name is Lucian Quinn, and I own one of the most successful software companies in the world. Impressive, right? I'm also a favorite target for every hungry socialite looking to land the uncatchable catch. Maybe it sounds vain, but the fact that I'm a god between the sheets doesn't hurt my stock any. What these women don't know, though, is that I'm completely screwed up and damaged beyond repair by my past. But then I meet her . . .

I'm Lia Adams, and I'm in my last year at St. Claire's University in North Carolina. I'm so close to escaping from my past and making my dreams come true. I'll do anything necessary to survive, even work as an escort to help pay for my college expenses. The men that I accompany to various events as an escort for Date Night are mostly harmless and just want an attractive woman on their arm for an evening. It has never gone further than that . . . until him.
Contains mature themes.

When you believe in a lie for so long…does it become the truth?

Oh Xander… broody, control freak, sexy Xander. I knew there was more to him than the gruff he exterior he presented to the world, and I thoroughly enjoyed unwrapping that present! Mended is the story of River’s older brother and Ivy, a character we’d yet to meet. As the title states, it was a journey of healing, misguided intentions, friendship, and ultimately forgiveness. Two broken souls, beaten down by life, just trying to find their way back to happy.

I was broken. His love broke me, and music was my only refuge.

To say Xander and Ivy were high school sweethearts would be a gross understatement. They were each other’s first everything and their bond ran thicker than most. I loved reading the innocence between them even while there was turmoil at home. Through the storm they could always count on each other and it was heartwarming to read. Something happens and our characters don’t see each other for twelve years, and this is where our story starts. From the first minute that they were on the page together their chemistry spoke volumes. You would be a fool to try and deny it. The sexual tension between these two was palpable and at times I felt the book melting in my hands. I just wanted to crawl inside and give them both a cuddle hug.

The boy who made love to me over and over is now a man that I don’t think I can ever get enough of.

I flew through these pages like the book was on fire; I simply couldn’t stop reading their story. Like a fine wine, Kim’s books just keep getting better and better and no matter what else I’m reading I find myself anticipating her next release. The heart and soul that she pours into her characters is something you don’t find too often. You cannot help but fall instantly in love with them and be invested in their lives. You don’t simply meet them; they become part of your life and they will stick with you long after you’ve turned the last page. Kim doesn’t write books you move on from; she pens tales that you keep coming back to. If you thought you loved River, you haven’t seen anything yet! The strength that these characters exhibit when they’ve basically been crapped on by the world brought tears to my eyes. This is one you don’t want to miss!

“I loved you when I was fourteen. I loved you when I was eighteen and had to let you go. I’ve loved you for the last twelve years. And I love you now.”

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Mended was the perfect blend of Karr’s wonderful sexy writing and an intriguing plot. This was by far the best book in the series!Opening Sentence: A black Jetta with heavily tinted windows swerves around the corner and comes to a stop in front of me, blocking my path as I walk through her school parking lot.The Review:Xander Wilde is extremely controlling and has his life planned out. He loves being a manager for Wilde Ones, but when something happens to his lead singer right in the middle of their tour he is stuck in a bind. They need a new lead or the tour is going to have to be cancelled and the only one willing and available is the only girl Xander has ever loved. But years ago he let her go and he broke her heart and he hasn’t seen her since. He knows that he doesn’t deserve a second chance but seeing her again has brought up all those old feelings and he can’t help but try to peruse her again.Ivy Taylor’s life hasn’t turned out quite like she planned. She always wanted to do music for a career but after her devastating break up with Xander when she was younger she took a different road. Instead of doing the soulful music she loved she became a rising pop star and started dating Damon Wolf, a very prominent man in the industry. Eventually they become engaged and she quits her music career. She thought she was happy until she runs back into Xander and realizes that the life she has isn’t the one she wants. But cutting ties with controlling Damon is harder then she thought it would be and possibly hazardous to the people she cares about most.Ivy had her good and bad qualities, but her flaws left her with lots of room to grow. She is very talented and even though her family didn’t treat her very good growing up she still helps support them in any way she can. She is very insecure when it comes to men which is understandable after the relationships she has been in, but I also felt she was a little naïve at times. She is very self-sacrificing and will go to great lengths for the people she cares about in her life and I found that admirable but also frustrating at times. She doesn’t communicate very well and that leads to unnecessary drama. Overall, I liked Ivy and felt that she was a easy character to connect with.I am going to be honest, I wasn’t really a huge fan of Xander in the first two books in the series because he always seemed like a jerk. But luckily you get to see a whole different side to him and I ended up really liking him. Yes, he is very controlling and doesn’t always think about what his actions will do to others, but deep down he is a very caring person that has a lot of regret. He blames himself for a lot for the bad things that has happened in his life even though it really wasn’t his fault, and this just broke my heart. The more I got to know Xander, the more I liked him. His has that protective streak that seems to run in the Wilde family, but he also has a jealousy problem as well. He doesn’t always control his temper the best, but in the end I felt he was a very realistic character. I was glad that I got to know this side of Xander, it made me understand him so much better.Mended was the book I have been waiting for ever since I started this series. Karr does such an amazing job writing sexy times in her stories, but in all the previous books that was really all there was. In this book there is actually a very interesting sub-plot that kept me much more intrigued with the story. I loved that you got to reconnect with the characters from previous books, but it was also really refreshing to have new characters enter the story. This could easily be a standalone if you don’t want to read the previous books. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series and hopefully they continue to get better. I would recommend you give this one a try if you like lots of drama, passionate romance, and an intriguing plot.Notable Scene:“Right. Okay, see you tonight,” I say and end the call. My head is spinning from knowing that after all these years I’m actually in the same place she is. I want to talk to her, tell her everything, but I can’t see how that would change anything anyway. Glancing behind me, I catch another glimpse of the two of them that turns my stomach. He’s such a slimeball. Since his father was hospitalized and he took over the business, he’s been scooping up labels, tearing them apart, and rebuilding them with bands he thinks are better fits. My guess is he picked up Jane’s label— that’s why he’s here. I heard they were having some financial difficulty, and he’s just the kind of bottom- feeder that would want to capitalize on being not only Jane’s agent but now also her producer. The sight of him touching Ivy makes my skin crawl.Damon Wolf, now turned music mogul, is the agent to a select few stars. Damon Wolf—two of the last words my father spoke to me before killing himself, and I never knew why. Of all the guys in the world Ivy had to end up with— why him? I look up and they’re gone. I’m anything but relieved, though. Rubbing my chin, I’m antsy, agitated, pissed as hell, but I feel more alive than I have in years.FTC Advisory: Intermix/Penguin provided me with a copy of Mended. Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Vivacious Valkyrie - Marta:*Copy gifted in exchange for an honest reviewThe third book in this series that features the lives and loves of those connected with the Wilde Ones rock band . It's finally the turn of manager Xander to step up and have his story told. He's a controlling guy who has been a constant presence in previous books and with this book the author starts to fill in all the blanks about just why he sometimes acts the way he does. This rock and roll lifestyle may not suit all but Xander was clearly born for it!This story starts with a glimpse of a younger teenage Xander and Ivy the only woman that he has ever loved. Theirs is a poignant story of love lost when painful sacrifices were made but they are about to reconnect with a bang! Thrown back together Xander realises Ivy is desperately unhappy with her current circumstances . She's engaged to Damon Wolf but he's a man with many secrets and his checkered past is about to cause unrelenting misery for Xander. Back on the road Xander finds it impossible to hide his feelings from Ivy but he realises that his past mistakes make it difficult for her to trust him again. Ivy struggles to ignore her feelings for Xander but sometimes it's impossible not to reach out and grab at happiness. For Xander there is no doubt that Ivy should be with him but Damon Wolf clearly has other ideas and he's not a man to let go easily! This story is set in a rock and roll world that will appeal to many readers. A wild lifestyle that many aspire to but seldom attain. These characters travel constantly and maintaining relationships is never an easy thing to do. Xander is a guy who strongly feels he should protect those he cares about and by doing so he has previously made choices that have hurt both himself and Ivy .i thoroughly enjoyed the insight into his younger self and how he felt about Ivy but didn't really understand all his previous actions. Its a storyline that has a lot going on and it's quite a convuluted plot as we learn much more about Xander and his family. There is a huge secret that's hinted at near the beginning but when it's revealed this reader truly was amazed . I really just didn't see it coming! It's a very hot book with lots of sexy time, but I found Ivy to be a little shallow at times and just wanted more from the heroine. I get that she's trying to do what she believes is right but her naïveté just felt wrong. I guess I just enjoy pretending that I'm in the book myself and she wasn't a character that I wanted to be although she does get to spend time with the sexy Xander. He's a hero who just fails to see any fault in the woman he loves which makes him quite endearing . As for Damon well he's defiantly the villain of the piece but I found him to be a little too far fetched and lacking any real character development. Although he really is a nasty piece of work !I found this book worked quite well as a standalone but if you enjoy reading about hot rockers with twisted crazy love lives then maybe start with Connected which is the first in this series.
