About this audiobook
A sweeping story of orphans and outcasts, haunted by the past and fighting to liberate themselves. At its centre is Monica Johnson, cut off from her parents after falling in love with a foreigner, and her bitter struggle to raise her sons in the shadow of the wild moors of the north of England. Intertwined with her modern narrative is the ragged childhood of Emily Brontë's Heathcliff, the anti-hero of Wuthering Heights and one of literature's most enigmatic lost boys.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am currently listening to this as an Audio Book , with only an hour left.
Although quite honestly I wish it could go on forever.
Caryl is an extremely talented writer who glides you effortlessly through waves & waves of emotion.
Has well .. if like me you were born in the 60's ..at almost every turn he evokes wonderful spoonfuls of reminisce.
Alongside sprinklings of humor & of course sadness. His attention to detail is second to none.
A warm thought also to the Narrator who told the story brilliantly.
Before this book I had never read Caryls work . But now I'm a looking forward to the next audio ?
He has a fan ..
