- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I find it hard to believe that Hemingway is considerd a great writer and that this novel is hist finest work. His prose is dry and uninspiring and the subect matter of this novel, a group of dissolute, bored ex -patriates, is depressing and unpleasant. However, the narration is pretty good :).
