About this audiobook

A new full-length novel adapted by Charles Osborne from Agatha Christie’s acclaimed play, presented in the new Christie livery.

When a stranger runs his car into a ditch in dense fog near the South Wales coast, and makes his way to an isolated house, he discovers a woman standing over the dead body of her wheelchair-bound husband, a gun in her hand. She readily admits to murder, and the unexpected guest offers to help her concoct a cover story.

But is it possible Laura Warwick did not commit the crime after all? If so, who is she shielding? As the gallant unexpected guest, Michael Starkwedder, looks for other enemies of the dead man he certainly isn’t disappointed by a lack of possible suspects – all with very potent motives…

A great Agatha Christie story that definitely keeps the play vibes, but also reminds you of classic Christie novels. The narration was great, the characters felt real and the mystery was both cozy & intriguing.

Brilliant! Entertaining and so much fun, hard to stop until you know who the murderer is. I thought I solved it multiple times throughout the book, but the plot twist and the final reveal were so unexpected.

I loved the chemistry between the two from the very start! It was almost a love story ❤️. I’m just getting started into Agatha Christie and the book was only 3hrs long. Not too long l, not too short. The main 2 characters were well explored, grew to love them within these 3hrs but rest of the characters, I didn’t feel connected at all, even the tragedy didn’t hit as it should have been. The end was, though not predictable but it was something people can easily guess, yet the journey to that end was abrupt.

Overall, I liked it. The story’s protagonist is not a detective So that was a refreshing part.
