About this audiobook

New York Times and #1 internationally bestselling author Christina Lauren’s Beautiful and Wild Seasons series hook up in Beautiful Secret for an erotic intercontinental romp that celebrates the best of both worlds!

When Ruby Miller’s boss announces he’s sending her on an extended business trip to New York City, she’s shocked. As one of the best and brightest young engineers in London, she knows she’s professionally up to the task. The part that’s throwing her is where she’ll be spending a month up close and personal working alongside—and staying in a hotel with—Niall Stella, her firm’s top urban planning executive and The Hottest Man Alive. Despite her ongoing crush, Ruby is certain Niall barely knows she’s alive…until their flirty overnight flight makes him sit up and take notice.

Not one for letting loose and breaking rules, recently divorced Niall would describe himself as hopeless when it comes to women. But even he knows outgoing California-girl Ruby is a breath of fresh air. Once she makes it her mission to help the sexy Brit loosen his tie, there’s no turning back. Thousands of miles from London, it’s easy for the lovers to play pretend. But when the trip is over, will the relationship they’ve built up fall down?

I loved this book! Niall and Ruby banter is the best, Niall has my heart... One of my fave of the series with Beautiful Stranger
    I guess I'm into Stella's brothers
    Totally worth the read!

The story was sweet, sexy and satisfying, also the narrators were excellent. However, I must admit I was a little disappointed at the lack of mention of the best Leeds band ever... Kaiser Chiefs and their hit song "Ruby". Any half decent Leodensian lad would have treated HIS Ruby to a rendition of this fab song!

Good read. The narrators did a fabulous job. It's a pity it wasn't longer.

Niall and Ruby have an office romance with an age gap.

Niall is a quieter character compared to the other men Christina Lauren have written but his alpha tendencies definitely come out at the times. He's more reserved and not as confident as Ruby which was pleasant to see because she was confident in the bedroom and what she wanted. It was endearing when she had to explain her intentions and wants to Niall in the bedroom.

Their story added a holiday romance feel with their work trip to New York and how their relationship could be exactly as they wanted it to be. Then it all got swept away when they landed back in England. Ruby stood up for herself and I loved how she didn't cave to Niall's indecision. Making him understand the error in his ways. In the same breath, it was nice to see Niall create a friendship with his ex and receive that closure.

This wasn't my favourite in the series because nothing so far can beat book 3 but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I liked this more than the first in the series, primarily because the story was sweeter and dealt so well with both characters' reservations and emotions. It felt so refreshing to read about a character who'd experienced sexual assault, discussed it openly with their partner, and the story didn't play the conversation to establish a character's dark, wounded past. So many of the conversations were about boundaries, consent, etc. while not losing any of the sexual tension and flirtiness. A genuinely engaging and romantic read.

Ok, how can I say this? It's not that I didn't like it, but it had such a different feel from the other books in the series that it almost felt like I was reading another series from another author. The story dragged, the characters weren't captivating and full of life, they had some emotional problems and they sure took their time getting around them. Sure, people need time to get their head on straight, but they stalled. The ending was good, but I missed that Beautiful Bastard's fun characters.

I received a copy of this book through Shelf Awareness in exchange for an honest review. So I usually avoid any books even remotely related to sex because I'm a bit uneasy around that sort of thing. But the cover of this one really drew me in.The plot itself is highly predictable and the characters are only slightly annoying at times (for the love of God, just get together already!), but what really makes this book stand out is its upfront approach to sex. The authors do a wonderful job of avoiding overly flowery language and creepy metaphors and euphemisms and just say it like it is. Each scene details the actions exactly how the happened, leaving nothing up to the imagination. I'll admit it, the book is downright hot at times. The plot was a little dull throughout, because it basically plays out exactly how you think it is going to, but the sex scenes are well written and, at times, extremely drawn out. You read this book for the sex not really for the storyline. So if you like reading about steamy sex, check this one out.The only major thing I disliked about this book was the nonchalant way sexual harassment in the work place was addressed, or rather not addressed. It was something everyone knew was happening and no one did anything about. So while the book ended happily enough, there just wasn't enough lawsuits for me to be completely happy.
