About this audiobook

With San Francisco under siege and every cop a suspect, the Women's Murder Club must risk their lives to save the city-and each other.

With a beautiful baby daughter and a devoted husband, Detective Lindsay Boxer can safely say that her life has never been better. In fact (for a change), things seem to be going well for all the members of the Women's Murder Club as they gather to celebrate San Francisco Medical Examiner Claire Washburn's birthday. But the party is cut short when Lindsay is called to a gruesome crime scene, where a woman has been murdered in broad daylight.

As Lindsay investigates, shocking video footage of another crime surfaces. A video so horrific that it shakes the city to its core. Their faces obscured by masks, the cold blooded criminals on the tape could be anyone-and now all of Lindsay's co-workers are suspects. As a rash of violence sweeps through San Francisco, and public fear and anger grows, Lindsay and her friends must risk their lives in the name of justice-before it's too late.

With shocking twists and riveting suspense, 14TH DEADLY SIN, proves yet again that when it comes to suspense fiction, in the words of Jeffrey Deaver: "nobody does it better" than James Patterson.

Holy crap. The SFPD and Boxer are in way over their heads with dirty cops, people being tortured and killed, and robberies. The clock is running out for everyone and people are scrambling for bits to go on. This one kept me on the edge of me seat until the very last page. With the cliffhanger I'll need to read the next book ASAP.

The usual Women's Murder Club with the usual twists and turns. This one includes dirt cops and the wall of silence. Romance and murder go perfectly in every one of the Women's Murder club mysteries. Always love the short chapters. You can put the book down and know exactly where you were. Lindsay's husband loses his job suddenly and unexpectedly. Why?? This one leaves us hanging as Lindsay is threatened by a drug lord.

Fast paced, short chapters, quick read that grips your attention early and holds you until the end. I have no great complaints, just a book that I read. The girls continue to evolve in their jobs and their personal life..kinda like a soap opera on TV. At the end, I'm wondering what happened -- the cliffhanger ending -- what happened to the really, really bad guy?

Not my favorite in the series - the authors seem to have sacrificed a sense of the unfolding of time for continuous action. While, in this genre, continual action is expected, there needs to be some time to breathe. It almost gives the feeling the whole book takes place in a couple days, but when you think about it, I don't think all the travel and plot developments could happen that fast. And the cliffhanger ending is, in my opinion, just cheap tricks to make you buy the next book. On the other hand, I do love the four women of "The Murder Club" and their friendship, and appreciate that some of the other repeating characters, such as Joe, are given their own voice as well. I'll keep on with the series.

I loved this one in the series. It had every character that I love. I believe this was my favorite of all. One of my favorite James Patterson books in a long time. The whole story just flowed so nicely. I could not put it down.

This book is typical James Patterson - short chapters, lots of action, little to no character development. Its a light action-packed book that grabs your interest and keeps you from thinking about the outside world. Four friends who call themselves the women's murder club and all work in crime related areas are part of the story. There are a lot of plots going on at the same time and most are wrapped up but the main one is left open at the end as a set up for book number 15 in the series. There are some things that happen in the book that are totally unbelievable and I won't go into them because I don't want to spoil it for other readers,,,but if you can past them and just enjoy this book as a get - away, its a fun book to read. CAUTION -- this is a series that needs to be read in order.

A book in a day, I love James Patterson at times. That said, I don't really love this series anymore. Partially it's my own fault-I've watched too much Rizzoli and Isles and now am back to only seeing Angie Harmon as Boxer. So doesn't work with her being blondie.Much like Patterson's other long running series, this has gotten formulaic. Lindsay in trouble, Joe in danger. Women's Murder Club in danger. All survive, because otherwise there's no series. My actual issue with this title aside from the Patterson factory (and their obsession with italics. ITALICS) is that there was no timeline. Yuki went from the DAs office to a settlement in a few chapters and there was no sense of what period this occurred over. Same issue with Cindy's book tour and the Windbreaker cop case. Could do with more editing. And more Club, less Lindsey. I did like the references back to Fish though.

This is a solid, fun read. I ran out of things to read during my flights back to SF, and this looked
like it would be a good read; I didn't feel like I had wasted my money. The dialogue is snappy, and
the relationships between characters are well-developed. I've just been looking at the relationship
between Mr. Patterson and his co-authors, and I think that this is an interesting way to think
about writing...I suppose we don't expect screen writers or film producers to be the sole developers
of content, but still it seems odd that Patterson gets so much of the credit for his work when it seems that so much of the writing is done by others. I will be considering that before I pay for another novel which is part of this enterprise. I do need a new library card.

This latest installment of the Women’s Murder Club series finds the four women gathering to celebrate Claire’s birthday. But their lives are in flux: Yuki is contemplating a job change and Claire is setting out on a book tour for her just-published book. Lindsay is about to be thrown into the investigation of a series of robberies, suddenly escalated to include murders, crimes that may or may not be perpetrated by police officers while Joe is inexplicably dismissed from a job and turns to investigating several cold case murders.Written with Patterson’s trademark short chapters, the book is a fast read. With virtually non-stop action, the story unfolds as Lindsay is drawn into the investigation, Joe reaches a realization that leads to danger he didn’t see coming, and Yuki questions her decision. But readers shouldn’t expect any significant resolution in this tale as the abrupt ending will leave them with more questions than answers.

Typical Patterson. Fast paced, short chapters, quick read that grips your attention early and holds you until the end. I'm not as absolutely in love with this series as I used to be, but I'll continue reading.

Women's Murder Club I started listening to this audiobook in the car right before we left for Canada a couple weeks ago and I ended up nixing it about 3 discs into it. The series is just not what it used to be. It was just kind of boring and I found myself drifting off thinking of other things. I really just lost interest in it; pretty much the same way I have with the rest of his books.
