This book is penned by a former NFL star who’d read Dickens in the locker room. The prose isn’t exactly sparkling, but it’s pretty good for a former jock. Lucid, definitely. Lots of information here; I always wanted to know about the combine, the torments of training camp, and especially the eating habits of interior linemen. I would LOVE, love to IHOP with Vince Wilfork.

I have loved the game of football my entire life as a player in youth and school as a fan,and as a couch and founding administrator for the youth football program in the small community I raised my kids in and was very successful at that level (two national championship teams. ) but until I read this I thought I had a good idea of pro ball. I even spent Sundays sitting on the bench ,or behind it, At LA Rams games when I was 6-7-8 years old. My Aunt Donna was the founding member of the Rams song leaders back in the mid 60,s. Read north Dallas fourth and about everything else. But reading this is the first time I ever really found out what it was really like.
