About this audiobook
Samantha is a stranger in her own life. Until the night she disappeared with her best friend, Cassie, everyone said Sam had it all-popularity, wealth, and a dream boyfriend. Sam has resurfaced, but she has no recollection of who she is or what happened to her that night.
As she tries to piece together her life from before, Sam realizes that it's one she no longer wants any part of. The old Sam took "mean girl" to a whole new level, and it's clear that she and Cassie were more like best enemies. Sam is pretty sure that losing her memories is like winning the lottery. She's getting a second chance at being a better daughter, sister, and friend, and she's falling hard for Carson Ortiz, a boy who has always looked out for her-even if the old Sam treated him like trash.
But Cassie is still missing, and the facts about what happened to her that night aren't just buried deep inside of Sam's memory. Someone else knows-someone who wants to make sure that Sam stays quiet.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Meh it was ok it is YA in its defense but lacked all the thrills I’d hoped for
A lifetime movie at best… - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is why I have trust issues ?? I loved trying to guess through the whole book and kept being wrong, which I kinda loved. I loved how this whole story played out. The mystery was always there. Everytime i felt myself loving a character, i paniked thinking something bad was going to happen. I adore Carson! I love how Sam and Carson's relationship develops. This was such a good book.
The audiobook is amazing! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is so CRAZY!!! Like omg, it’s one of those books that keeps you on your toes with all the twists and turns. Highly recommend trying it out.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What else is there to say but JLA did it again by writing another awe-inspiring story. I can't get enough of her awesomeness. She seems to just magically be able to write stories that are so compelling and make you want jump for joy. Stories that draw you in from the first page and you don't want to let go even after it's over. I can't help but fangirl when I write a review for one of her books. And Don't Look Back was no exception. Right away I was drawn in by the story and I knew I was going keep second guessing myself about how it will end (being that it was a mystery). The writing was clever and kept me on the edge of my seat, so to speak, at every twist and turn. I really enjoyed this book and I like how the story and the characters developed throughout. I felt it was very realistic and made me believe what Samantha was going through. Samantha was a well developed protagonist who made the story that more convincing. Carson wasn't so bad himself. I really like him as a hero and he added a lot to the story as well.
Reading is kind of a an escape sometimes and I always feel very contented when I finish a book of JLA's. There might still be a bit of a book hangover but that's okay, as long as I can bounce back quickly and find another Jennifer L. Armentrout book to sober me up and do it all over again. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This was definitely an intense read--so much so that there were times I had to take a break from reading it, even though I really wanted to know what happened next. I do agree with another reviewer that for some people, the story line could be a trigger. That said, I pretty much suspected who The Hero would turn out to be. Though there were a few twists that I didn't suspect.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5So many suspects! I didn't figure it out until the end right along with Cassie. (Popular name for a lot of books this copyright year.) my mystery readers will love this one.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Typical Mary Higgins Clark.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It starts very similar to [b:Right Here Right Now|21946655|Right Here Right Now|Nikita Singh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1397811811s/21946655.jpg|41251461]. But takes more of a mystery route than teen angst. Sure, there are prom, crush and break ups, but they take back seat here. More focus is on the mystery surrounding the protagonist and the people around her.
It goes from edge of the seat thriller to surreal dream sequences. Good thing there was variety in narration. I liked it more than Right Here Right Now.
(This is why hate rating system. I had to give both the novels same rating, even though I liked Don't Look Back more than Right Here Right Now.) - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What just happened!? WOW! That is all I can say to sum up my emotions after reading Don't Look Back. I started this yesterday and finished it early the next morning. This book started with a bang from the first page. I have been in a reading slump, and thank goodness for JLA! This was exactly what I needed. This thriller kept your guessing and every chapter left me wanting more.About half way through I literally stopped reading to go tell my husband what was going on (not that he cared), but I was so Ahhhh! in the moment I needed to talk to someone. I did the same thing once I reached the end! He was laughing at my reactions, but again this what a good book should do to you. This does involve teenagers and some mean girl moments. But, the rest of the book takes over and I can look past those annoying parts. They all still held the book together. I still loved it and give this 5 stars.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Have you ever wanted a chance to start over? To erase all of your memories and start life fresh? That's exactly what happens to Samantha Franco, except her memories begin with her standing on a road covered in blood and dirt. She has no idea who she is or how she got there or what happened. After being taken to a hospital, her identity is finally figured out and her parents show up a few hours later. Too bad she has no idea who her mom and dad are, that they are super rich, that she has a twin brother, she has a boyfriend who she is basically betrothed to, and she and her mean girl friends basically rule their high school. She also has no idea that her best friend's name is Cassie and is missing.
Good character building. Good twists and turns. Really good twist at the end that you don't see coming until it's right in your face.
For my full review, check out my blog - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I kind of liked this book. It's a mystery surrounding the reappearance of Sam after a night of hard partying with her best friend Cassie. Only no one seems to be happy about it and Sam doesn't understand why. Her brother told her she used to be a b-i-t-c-h and his best friend hates her. So it gets confusing when her heart starts thumping faster whenever he's around unlike the non existent reaction she has around her boyfriend.Things are revealed at a steady pace but nothing caught my attention. I only picked this book out because it was an available audiobook at my library. But it was by no means a terrible story.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Sam has been missing for four days and when she is finally found and starts to recover she is surprised to discover that she was not a very nice girl. I was intrigued by the personality change, and the mystery and the tiny bit of romance as well.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This needs to be a movie.
I don't know what it says about me as a reader, but I didn't guess who it was they were looking for until almost the end. When Sam remembered everything that's when it all finally clicked it. Hahaha!
I love this because it's very, very different from all other JLA works. I loved the mystery, the romance, and everything!
THIS NEEDS TO BE A MOVIE!!! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow. Wow. Wow. I would give this book 10 stars if I could. Jennifer L. Armentrout, you are amazing. What an incredible story that I simply couldn't put down until I knew what had happened. I can normally get some idea of what the plot twist will be but I did not see it coming at all. I absolutely loved Sam and Carson and her brother, the characters were so real and reminded me of people I knew in high school. The story was tragic and suspenseful but was wrapped up so beautifully. I hope that this won't be the last mystery novel Jennifer writes!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Pretty fantastic. Great pacing and suspense.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Samantha, Connor, Dakota & Jamie are at it again trying to solve murders of a serial killer and catch this horrific person. This time around it is very very personal to Jamie, he was her captor 12 years ago and they are trying to track him down as they have discovered that she was not his only victim and Jamie was a very lucky girl to escape so many years ago. This one drug me in from the get go and was pulling me in throughout the entire story. The Characters are so intriguing and with a little bit of faith throughout and a lot of hard work and fear they work through this one as well. A must read in my eyes if you love a good mystery.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I like detective novels - good ones. I picked this up because of a woman's review that I read here on LT and I really enjoyed the book. Eason keeps a tight pace through-out the whole experience, the action is lively, there are several turns, a few real surprises. It was refreshing to read a book with no junkies, hookers, unwanted pregnancies, swearing or sex yet filled with excitement, compassion, life challenges including characters of integrity. I am a Christian and appreciated that thread through-out, but I believe that anyone who can appreciate a quick and satifying read will spend their time well with Don't Look Back.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Do you ever read a book by an absolutely wonderful author and it feel utterly, fantastically real? I have....first with Lynette Eason's Too Close To Home and now with Don't Look Back. I love crime drama/romantic suspense, and the fact that Lynette Eason's are Christian ones, makes this (and book 1!) book that much better. Ms. Eason's words are gripping and her characters are loveable, and her action is instant, keeping me hooked until the end. Don't Look Back picks up right where Too Close To Home left off. And like book 1, the adrenaline rush starts immediately! Jamie and Dakota's story is fast paced, full of page turning, edge of your seat suspense, that is absolutely amazing. I could literally feel Jamie's fear and hope as if it was my own. That blood pumping rush really kept me going in this book. Jamie's past was terribly horrific, but can she really over come it? And sweet, sweet Dakota-bless his heart- who wouldn't fall in love with this FBI cowboy? I did.....way back in Too Close To Home, when we first met him. His past isn't so good either, but can he trust in Jamie enough to over come his? Can he turn to God and FULLY accept Him? Lynette Eason really made Dakota UHmazing! He totally gripped my heart and didn't leave until the end (and not really even then as I can still feel him and Jamie right there!)This is better than book 1 by a thousand miles. Blood pumping, heart racing, page turning suspense and romance, filled with a message from God about not looking back into your past and letting go to move forward, this book will be forever on my book shelf. Definitely worth the 5 stars that I gave book 1, only I want to give it so many more! The only downfall to this novel....I have to wait for the next installment in the Women of Justice series! EEEKKK! I can't wait for that one! But, in the mean time, I will be recommending Ms. Eason's FANTABULOUS books to EVERYONE. They are so worth the read.*This book was provided for review by Revell, a division of Baker Publishing*
