About this audiobook
Acclaimed historian Edward J. Renehan, Jr., author of The Lion's Pride, focuses on the World War II era to craft a welcome addition to the Kennedy literature. Renehan shows how family patriarch Joseph was an ambitious but occasionally embarrassing diplomat, while wartime disaster elevated second son John to great heights. Sisters Kathleen and Rosemary also emerge as strong individuals in this compelling glimpse at the great American dynasty.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a good book for those interested in the Kennedys and any World War II buff. The Kennedys were profoundly shaped by the Second World War, the four eldest Kennedys in particular. Joe Jr. was killed in action; JFK heroically captained PT 109; Rosemary was lobotomized; and Kick lost her husband and brother in the space of just a few months. At times the writing got a little dry, but otherwise it was a very interesting book.
