Review:Silver Tongued Devil is the fourth book in the Sabina Kane series and it very different from the previous books. Sabina and the gang return to New York after the showdown in New Orleans, the dark races are getting ready to sign a peace treaty and she is trying to settle into some semblance of normality. Sabina's relationship with Adam is going smoothly and she is trying to help Maisie recover from the trauma of being kidnapped. Murders close to home force her into the investigation and Sabina is forced to question everything including herself and those she is closest to.Ok this one was a lot different from the others in the series, more emotional issues and a lot less action. I wondered after the big showdown in New Orleans where the author was going to go next with the series. With the exception of the last 60 or so pages the book dealt only the emotional issues of the characters, Maisie and her mental health, the relationship between Adam and Sabina, the relationship between Giguhl and PW, and finally with Georgia and Mac and them trying to come out. It kinda felt like a really long paranormal Dr. Phil episode. The last 60 or so pages we finally get some decent fight scenes and had Sabina acting like the bad-ass I really wanted to read about. Even Giguhl wasn't really his usual trouble making sacrastic self. There is some really good action at the end and it was nice to see Sabina finally get some acceptance and support from the people she has been trying to protect. All in all it was an ok book, not great but ok. It's also very much a transition book and a good set-up for the final book in the series, and that one I am really looking forward to reading.♥ ♥ ♥ 3/5 It was ok.

A combination of action, relationships and emotions carry this story in the Sabina Kane series. After the vampires, mages, fae and werewolves came together to fight for a common enemy in the last book, peace between the groups is now possible. But trouble begins days before the peace treaty is to be signed with a couple of murders. Sabina, Adam and Giguhl and a newcomer, Alexis, are sent to investigate. Characters met in the last book play a role and a number of different relationships grow or face challenges. I find it interesting to watch Sabina grow in this series from someone who didn’t believe she ever could/should or deserve a relationship, to one who now values the different relationships she has with various characters. And I love the way Giguhl, her demon minion, has gone from comic relief in the first book, to someone who can not only be a trusted friend, but someone with great insight who isn’t afraid to share it.This story has a number of twists that had me guessing, but the outcome still manages to surprise me. And we’re left with the group moving on to face the next challenge in the next book.

A big part of the book addresses Sabina and Maisie's relationship and Maisie's issues now that she has been rescued from their maternal grandmother. Everyone is back in New York dealing with the Peace negotiations when people come up murdered in the dark races community.I found that SILVER-TONGUED DEVIL was a lot slower then the previous books but still well paced and there was not a lot of action. There is drama between everyone throughout the book, no one is left unaffected in some way. Sabina and Adam are doing fantastic for most of the book until something that happened in a previous book comes out, I will refrain from telling you how that all turns out so not to spoil your suspense. There is some major loss which was beyond shocking and I found myself bawling my eyes out. Because of the loss some other things seem to be happening with Sabina and I cant wait to find out what they mean. Sabina has changed SO much from book 1 and it has been a great journey as she grows. There is some great lead-up to book 5 and we are not left with a ridiculous cliffhanger which is nice. I have really enjoyed Sabina's journey and I'm sad that BLUE-BLOODED VAMP will be the last book of the series but also excited to see how it ends.

Three months after Green-Eyed Demon ends, things are good, bad, and okay... Sabina is drawn to a crime scene by the smell of fresh blood, only because she'd been drinking bagged blood for months now. But as she's there she hears the coroner wonder of the lack of blood at the scene and obvious attack point. Sabina suspects a new vampire, an inexperienced one at that, is now killing in Slades territory. Then a second murder, at the Vein, pulls Sabina, Adam, and Giguhl into working on the case that Sabina doesn't want to be on. Which all needs to be solved ASAP with as the treaty amoung the three races; Vampires, Mages, and Fey, is coming close to signing. Maise appears to be getting better, on the surface, but no prolific dreams, but things are going wonderfully with Adam...or are they?If you haven't read the first three books, I guess you could start with this one. The main arc of the first three books has pretty much closed, and the threads still open are briefly explained, and carried on from here. But I would definitely start at the beginning, so you see what all has transpired with Cain previously, and appreciate the growth and changes in the characters.Sabina has turned over a new leaf, and is really trying to be a part of the group now, a team player. She still has her moments where she rather flight than talk with her friends and ask for help. But she has come a loooong way from Red-Headed Stepchild. Sabina seems to need her friends around now and likes having them. And even though she has a quick tongue with Giguhl she still wants him happy.Giguhl has gone from Demon Fight Club to Roller Derby. lol! That is just fun, and the names. Oh my. lol. Giguhl and Sabina come back as a team again here. There are a few touching moments where they talk, and then are the old team again. We have many names from the last three books popping up here; Pussy Willow, Mac, Georgia, Errol, and others. It's really great to see them all come together here. But of course, you know they can't stay that way.... so what pulls them apart? What happens in their lives? You just have to read it. Oh, we have full out action here, and some tragic losses. But I'm not telling you who.Sabina is thought to be crazy for thinking Cain is still after her... And the Vampires have a new "Leader" who still doesn't care for Sabina, which might make certain actions difficult for Sabina. I enjoy reading the books of Sabina. There is always great action, and so much fun for me. I enjoy laughing and worrying about the characters. Then reading the fights as well. This one in no way disappointed. It lived up to the other books in the series, even with Sabina growing as a character. This one did have the middle child feel, only in the fact that it left me WANTING the final book ASAP. lol.Well done. I'm awaiting the fifth and final book of Sabina, Blue-Blooded Vamp.

WARNING: This is the 4th book in this series so spoilers are MORE likely than not. Just saying :)Sabina is back and better than ever. She's trying to settle down to a normal life....whatever normal is when you have a minion that is a demon named Giguhl and friends like hers. But just when things seem to be calm is when the worst trouble is brewing, and Sabina finds herself once again swept up in events out of her control. And everything seems to rest on Sabina's shoulders.I have loved each and every book in this series so far and this book wasn't any different! I love how sassy and fierce Sabina is while still having a softer side that comes out at times. I am always rooting for her to succeed even when it seems that the odds are completely against her. The book was fast paced and darker than I expected which is always a plus for me when it comes to urban fantasy. The author had this book filled with some unexpected twists that kept me guessing....I never knew what was going to happen next. I loved it! And while there was a lot that was left open leading up to the next book, I wasn't bothered by it because it ended in a way that left me feeling satisfied. All in all, I felt like this was another kick-ass addition to this series. I love that the author isn't afraid to take chances with these books and makes unexpected plot choices. I just plain love this series! I would highly recommend each one of these books to urban fantasy fans but you MUST start at the beginning. Each book builds on the previous one, and you wouldn't be able to see the character growth unless you read them in order. Highly recommended!Bottom Line: Another amazing read to one of my favorite series! I will read ANYTHING that this author writes if that tells you anything :)Disclosure: I was lucky enough to snag a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher. Thanks!

Silver-Tongued Devil is book fourth in the Sabina Kane series by Jaye Wells.

The story starts couple of days after the events in Green-Eyed Demon (book three). Sabina and Adam are enjoying the calm after the storm, they are living together at the Mage compound in New York city and are helping with the preparatives for the signing of the peace treaty between the races (vampires, mages and fae). Sabina is continuing with her mage education under Rhea’s tutelage and changing her lifestyle one “blood bag” at a time.
Maise is having issues recovering from the trauma left by her ordeal in New Orleans, but this time Sabina is trying to be there for her as much as she can. But when some horrific murders occur, putting in danger the peace treaty, Sabina and Adam are forced to leave the quiet life behind to investigate and find the culprit behind these murders. Sabina is glad for the change, she realizes she has missed the rush her old life used to give her.
As always Giguhl is there, not only as Sabina’s side kick but he is also expanding his horizons as the coach of a new Roller Derby team.

Sabina has come a long way, and even though she is still trying to find herself the growing as a character she has achieved is discernible. I loved how she realizes she can’t leave one part of herself behind, that for her to be complete she needs to accept herself and get both of her halves to live in balance and harmony with each other.

After what happened in New Orleans Adam is suffering from mild PTSD, he is pretending the events didn’t affect him as much but his actions are saying something else. He needs to deal with this to be able to be and accept Sabina as she needs him.

Their relationship is stable but secrets from Sabina’s past are coming to haunt them and test their commitment and love for each other.

I have always loved Giguhl but Silver-Tongued Devil made me loved him even more, not only he made me laugh out loud many times but he became the friend and confidant Sabina needed. His priority was her and he proved it time after time.

Characters we loved from previous books also made appearances, new characters are introduced and others… let’s just say Mrs. Wells went where not many authors have the guts to go.

The pace during the first half of Silver-Tongued Devil is a bit slow, but halfway into the book the pace not only picks up but it takes you in a roller coaster ride of emotions, with ups, downs, twists and turns that will leave you with you heart in your hand. The end was not a cliffhanger but still it’s one that will leave you counting the days for the release of the next and last installment of this series Blue-Blooded Vamp.

Silver-Tongued Devil is a great addition to a great series. If you are an urban fantasy lover this is a series you need to read. Silver-Tongued Devil is not a stand-alone book, these books should be read in order.

Okay Sabina (and J. Wells) - this book didn't quite live up to the previous three in theis series. It seemed like it wanted to go somewhere and it eventually got somewhere, but it sort of had a hard time getting there. Make sense? It felt like the story wasn't fully worked through before it was written. Sabina is back, now living and learning with/from the Mages. She's trying to be a team player both with her Team Awesome and with others around her. She is forced to participate in politics when she doesn't want to and she is also forced to investigate a murder(s) with her mate, Adam, and a new comer forced upon her by Tanith. You would think that the mystery/investigation would take a more central role in the story, it doesn't. And that was disappointing. Also, Adam's behavior seemed to come out of no-where (can't say more without spoiling things). The best part was the ending. But, alas, it was still entertaining and I still enjoy Giguhl - I will read the next one:)

I'd have to say I actually didn't like this book. Was extremely frustrating, so much so that I had to SKIP read most of it to keep from getting upset. It ended alright, but really, didn't like this book

This book was disappointing. I really didn't like the way Sabina handled a lot of things and she was way too judgmental for my liking. I've come to the realization that Adam is not the one for her. He doesn't truly accept her for who she is and that is bothersome. The situation with Maisie was handled poorly as well. I felt the book was too long and dragged on. Things starting picking up toward the end, but it wasn't enough to save this story. I'm just glad the next book is the finale of the series.
