About this audiobook

John Muir (1838–1914) was one of the first modern preservationists. His letters, essays, and books telling of his adventures in nature, and wildlife, especially in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, were read by millions and are still popular today. His direct activism helped to save the Yosemite Valley and other wilderness areas. The Sierra Club, which he founded, is now one of the most important conservation organizations in the United States. His writings and philosophy strongly influenced the formation of the modern environmental movement. (Summary from Wikipedia)

Author

John Muir

John Muir (1838-1914) was one of the most influential conservationists and nature writers in American history. He was instrumental in the creation and passage of the National Parks Act, and founder of the Sierra Club, acting as its president until his death. Muir was a spirit so free that all he did to prepare for an expedition was to "throw some tea and bread into an old sack and jump the back fence."

I'll have to read the actual book which I expect to be amazing. The audiobook on the other hand, was disappointing due to the monotone narration and repeated advertisement before each chapter.

Terrible audio quality, if you listen with headphones you will hear near constant thunks as if the narrator had kids jumping on the floor above him.
Nothing against the book content itself, but librivox needs to rerecord this one.
