    About this audiobook

    Four children: Henry, Jess Violet and Bennie. They are living alone in a stranded boxcar.

    They find items they need from the dump and a stray dog whom they name Watch. Henry earns money by working for a man named Dr. McAllister and his mother, Mrs. McAllister.

    But, while they are living their daily lives, little do they know that the McAllisters are watching their every move.

      I liked the story - it reminded me of my childhood when the teachers at elementary school would read it. The issue is that every chapter is read by someone different with varying audio qualities and they state their name, the chapter, name of the book, and company before every new chapter.

      Its extremely annoying with the changes of audio from person to person. And the librevox recording over and over. But it's a good book. Was in elementary school and still is today.

      A perfect book for children of all ages - great discussions about hardship, adventure, fear, work ethic, trust, kindness of strangers, and above all sibling relationships. I’m 43 and really enjoyed it!
