About this audiobook
Music, magic, and a real-life miracle meld in this virtuosic, genre-defying tour de force from storytelling maestro Pam Muñoz Ryan.
Lost and alone in the forbidden Black Forest, Otto meets three mysterious sisters and suddenly finds himself entwined in a puzzling quest involving a prophecy, a promise, and a harmonica.
Decades later, Friedrich in Germany, Mike in Pennsylvania, and Ivy in California each become interwoven when the very same harmonica lands in their lives, binding them by an invisible thread of destiny. All the children face daunting challenges: rescuing a father, protecting a brother, holding a family together. How their suspenseful solo stories converge in an orchestral crescendo will resound in your heart long after the last note has been struck.
Richly imagined and structurally innovative, Echo pushes the boundaries of form and shows us what is possible in how we tell stories.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The book is so emotional and detailed. I most love how the three stories closed with a sadness and then at the very end of the novel put a far happier ending for their lives. I always have trouble finding a narrator that I like. These four narrators put so much emotion into the stories that I have finally been satisfied. These stories opened up my heart and it is so much easier to realize how terrible the lives of the children outside of America are. The world needs more stories like this to show to this world

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I must first say that I don’t typically write reviews, but I couldn’t pass this one by. I have read and listened to hundreds of books and audiobooks and this was was as close to perfect as they come.
I’d originally planned on reading this book but because it was such a hefty book I decided to try the audiobook. What a great choice that was. The book would’ve been wonderful, but with all of the extras in the audiobook, it would’ve been a shame to miss that. The beautiful harmonica sound, the piano playing as well as the different voices. It goes without saying that the narrator was amazing. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent book for the whole family to listen to!! Wonderful!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was the saddest book I’ve ever read. But I’m glad I listened all the way through for the redemptive turns.
