- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The story was most interesting but difficult to follow because the audio kept skipping chapters. It was challenging to keep up with storyline and characters due to this skipping around. Irritating to have to try and recapture where story went off the rails
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The narrator sounds like a robot. I could only listen for five minutes.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I cannot believe that in spite of the hundreds of books I have listed to and even many more books I’ve read that I had never come across this author!!! While the narration of this by a Librivox volunteer might not be quite as good as a professional narrator, she did hold my interest and did a good job reading a very long book. The story itself would stand up well beside any of today’s crime/mystery stories without any of the gore, sexual content, and vile language. I finally figured out who did it, but not until near the end, but had no clue why. Will definitely listen to more of her books on Scribd! Thanks, Scribd, for making this series of books available!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5All the characters were so believable...Mrs. Butterworth unbelievably so! This was a good read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5An excellent mystery plenty of twists and turns to keep it interesting

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I plan to avoid any book that, every other chapter, has to advertise the publisher/reader. For a 36 chapter book, that's too much for me. Otherwise book was very entertaining, excellent use of language, often had me laughing out loud!

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The story may have been good, but the reader was so difficult to listen to, that I didn't get past the second chapter.
