Overall, I enjoyed it but I think it could have been better.Opening Sentence: A cute cocktail waitress slinks up beside me and slides her drink order across the bar.The Review:Bell Wilde has had a rough road. She has an amazing family but they have had a lot of hardships. In college she used to party quite a bit and she wasn’t one for turning down a good time. But one hot night with Ben Covington changed her world forever. Years later she finally feels back on track and then Ben comes back into her life.Ben’s entire world has crumbled around him. The girl he has loved his entire life is married to someone else, his dream job he worked so hard for is no longer available, and his family is a mess. But Ben is determined to start over. He has found the perfect job that he loves and his family is slowly mending. The only thing missing is the love of his life and when he runs into Bell again he can’t help but be drawn to her. They have a messy past but they are different people now. Can they work through everything and get the happy-ever-after they deserve?Throughout the series, Bell has really developed as a character. She started out as an extremely impulsive, unreliable, lost person. She’s now become a very put together young woman that is someone you can respect. She still has a fun side to her personality but she’s not as crazy as she was when she was younger. She also has a huge heart and would do anything for the people she cares about. The one thing I didn’t love about her was how strong headed she was. She has a really hard time letting others help her. I get wanting to be independent, but I felt like she overdid it a little bit. But for the most part I really liked her as a character.I was so glad that Ben was a completely different character in this book then he was in the novella. At the beginning of the series, I actually really loved Ben and found him to be an extremely intriguing character but when I read Blurred, which was his novella, I pretty much despised him. Luckily, he actually ended up being a really great guy. He has had a really heartbreaking past and he’s made a lot of mistakes, but he learned from them and ultimately he became a much better person because of them. I really enjoyed watching the growth of his character and it actually helped me to develop a connection with him. Overall, I liked Ben, but I would have liked him more had I not gone into this book disliking him so much.Frayed was much better than I was anticipating, but it still wasn’t as good as it could have been. First off, I want to say that I read the novella Blurred before I read this one and I really wish I hadn’t. I did not enjoy Blurred and unfortunately it made me really dislike the main characters that are featured in Frayed. I actually liked Ben and Bell in this story, but I think I would have loved them if I hadn’t read the novella. In a way, I do wish they didn’t have so much history between them. It creates great drama but it also made me like them less as a couple. I’m not a huge fan of what they did in the past and I realize it helped to show a lot of growth as characters, but the fact that their relationship started with cheating bugged me. This is obviously totally a personal issue, but it did hinder how much I enjoyed the book. Another thing I didn’t like was that there isn’t much of a plot beyond the romance. This has been a constant struggle for me with this entire series. In each book there was such great potential for a great sub-plot to develop and it very seldom ever did. With all that being said, this is a very steamy, emotional read that I’m sure tons of people will really enjoy. If you are a fan of the series or you like sexy new adult romance books I would recommend you give this series a try.Notable Scene:With my heart pounding, I race out onto the terrace for some air. I have to stay away from him. The way he looks at me, I know what he wants. And I can’t control the way my body reacts when he’s near. I know he’s not good for me, and that nothing but heartache can come out of the attraction between us. There’s just too much in our past to ever make this work.       This story does a good job of portraying how love is with young adults these days. There are misunderstandings, jealousy, casual sex, predators, interfering friends, busy schedules, romance, steamy sex and former lovers on the scene. It is amazing when two lovers manage to get together in real life too. I read this very quickly and enjoyed the writing style as well as the plot. My thanks to the author and Goodreads for a complimentary copy.

      My Booklist review:Bell Wilde met Ben Covington when she crashed a frat party in college, calling herself S’Belle. As Karr continues her NA romance Connections series (Torn;Mended, both 2014), Ben wins a coveted journalism award, they meet again, and the spark between them is just as hot as it was before. They proceed to dance around each other, one holding onto a secret that should have been shared years before. While they get along sexually, they now make an effort to get to know one another without simply having sex. But it is difficult to understand why flighty, self-doubting Bell wants anything to do with self-centered Ben. Even when the big secret is revealed and Ben reacts badly, hurting the pampered Bell, some readers will find it difficult to embrace this shallow couple. Gratuitous sex scenes, tired romance tropes, and a spotty plot make Karr’s latest read like slapdash erotica fan fiction. Those who haven’t read previous books in the series will find themselves lost much of the time, but Karr’s fans will read on happily.
