    Preparing for her final year of college, Daisy is crazy busy now that she's back at Butternut Lake.       I find the Butternut Lake Series very interesting. I like the way Mary McNear draws you in to the story and characters. I always can't wait to read the next installment.

      This story is about a family with introspective from their individual situations. Will always felt out of Daisy's league so never pursued a relationship with her, but things change the summer before Daisy's final year in college. Caroline can only see the similarity between Will and her ex-husband Jack.and feel's this relationship is doomed from the start The business that has sustained Caroline's family for generations is in trouble because of the recession. Caroline fears she might lose everything...Oh!... And Jack is back!This truly well-written, traumatic story is of betrayal, forgiveness, recompense, second chances, stereotyping, trust, and abusiveness.Can one truly turn lemons into lemonade? Can the effects of an abusive lifetime and poor choices be overcome?The reader's interest is captured throughout the book. The characters at times are infuriating yet others are very endearing. They seem very real. The scenes are described well and pulls the reader into them.There is minimal bad language but on the whole quite "clean". There is pre-marital sexual situations.I truly feel this novel is deserving of a Five Stars rating except for the less than Conservative principles.* This book was sent to me in exchange of an honest review, of which I have given.

      I read the first book in the series,UP AT BUTTERNUT LAKE and liked it. This is the next book in the series,it was likeable,but very predictable.I did not enjoy this one as much.This book focused on a Mom and Daughter in town.The characters from the first book came in mid way thru. Just very predictable.I doubt I'll read the rest of the series.

      These books are just absolutly light and refreshing. And after a long cold snowy winter, trudging in and out of the cold every day there isn't anything more I could ask from a book then a nice get away to a town somewhere else, some great characters and a simple happy ending. Also the chance to know more books in this series will follow. Thank you Mary McNear.

      What treat to go back and revisit this this cast of characters. Sometimes trilogies fall flat, but this is NOT the case with Butternut Summer. The stories continues, engaging the reader AGAIN! I cannot wait to see how this trilogy ends! Get these books and enjoy an amazing story! 4 stars!

      This is the latest in the author's series based in a small town with down to earth, warm characters that steal your heart. The main characters are a café owner and her college-age daughter, as they navigate feelings for bad boys, who are trying to make significant changes. The doubts come with whether the changes are real. The café owner is struggling with a failing business, middle age issues and the daughter is dealing with a first love and all the highs and lows that come with that. It's a quick, satisfying read.

This story was a fast paced read of mainly three people...Caroline, owner of Pearls coffee shop, a very caring person, but she has some secrets of her own and is the need of help that she is trying to hide. Will she trust her ex who is now back in town trying to be in there life's? Daisy, the daughter who was home for the summer from college, now twenty one years old struggling for her own identity, and she is in love with a 'former bad boy.' With all of this going on will she be able to get her parents back together after being apart for eighteen years? Jack (ex husband)who has come back to this town bringing with him some real bad memories of the pass dealing with alcohol, gambling and cheating. Has he changed from his former life?Put all this story together with some other secondary characters and you will see how each one has some flawed, sympathetic, very believable and some intriguing moments in how this author will solve and bring it all out in this authentic and entertaining story. There will be some sexual content that was presented very well. I did find some of "Butternut Summer" a little straightforward and predictable as it reconnects some to the past to new beginnings. However, if you are looking for a engaging romantic read you have come to the right place that would lead me to recommend this novel to you.
