About this audiobook
"Another raw, gritty masterpiece with a sexy-as-hell Army Ranger to swoon over." --- K.A. Tucker, author of Ten Tiny Breaths
Ex-Army Ranger Gabriel Vincent is a badass hero. Or he used to be. Home from Afghanistan, Gabe can't stop thinking about that one horrible night on the battlefield, a night that changed his life forever. He knows he's messed up, but with the help of a little beer and a lot more women, he's keeping it together. Until he meets Madison Hill.
Madison is happily single-or so she thinks. After the tragic death of her parents, she took on the responsibility of running the family restaurant, and that's just about all she has time to worry about. Until she meets Gabriel Vincent.
Though they don't realize it at first, Gabe and Maddy will soon develop a weakness: each other. But Gabe has a secret, a hidden monster that he's afraid Maddy could never overcome. And Maddy is dealing with issues she fears Gabe won't understand. They quickly realize they need each other to be whole, but they have demons to fight-and the problem with demons is that they never die quietly. Can they find a way to heal the past . . . before they lose each other?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed it, romantic and with plot, it is a nice saga
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good story line. I love the characters in the series. I was not a fan of the narrator. She gave the characters a semi east coast accent. The story takes place in the Chicago area.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was beautifully wriiten. The characters had a lot of depth and had real-life situational problems. Both characters seemed very real in their in their actions and reactions to the people and places around them. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Gabriel Vincent is an ex-Army Ranger and hero. He has returned home from Afghanistan to and is visiting with his sister, Jacey. Jacey would love to fix him up with her best friend and boss, Madison, but Madison really isn't all to keen on the idea. However, Madison agrees to meet Jacey at one od their favorite hangouts knowing that Jacey's brother is expected to drop by. That night Madison arrives and can't find Jacey. She hangs around for a while and then decides to go outside and get some fresh air and then try again to find Jacey. Madison walks around the building and toward the alley where she spots a great looking "hunk". Madison feels attracted to him and he is definitely attracted to her, but it just doesn't work out and the two separate. She thinks that she'll probably never see that hunk again. The next night at her restaurant Jacey is again expecting her brother. Madison is working and looks up at the entrance and who should enter but the great looking guy from last night. Madison realizes that he is looking at Jacey who is on the move toward him. It her brother. Gabriel is a man of mystery and a man who definitely has issues. He is suffering from PTSD. He is trying to battle it by himself and it makes for very interesting interaction with Maddy, his sister, and his friends. The book is well written, with strong characters and a great story line. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.**GoodReads win
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A wonderfully developed romantic novel with real characters. The story revolves around Madison and Gabriel who meet by chance in Chicago one night outside of a busy night club. Their lives are intertwined before they even have their experience that night and seem to be forever joined until Gabriel runs away. This novel is a great summer beach read!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another Great book in this series!
One of the best things about this book is we get to hear about Mila & Pax and not just in passing but in detail. Gabe is a hot damaged man. Maddy is damaged too but with Gabe's help is able to open up and finally move on. Unfortunately Gabe isn't ready to face his demons and has to protect Maddy the only way he knows how. When he realizes he is ready to move on and wants Maddy in his life it might be too late. Some Hot sex. Fabulous ending. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5LOVED IT!! I didn't think it was possible for me to love this book more than If You Stay but I just may..
This was such an angsty/sexy rollercoaster of emotions! I could sympathize with both Maddy and Gabe, and definitely felt that they were the perfect couple for each other. They both are very protective over their sisters, and basically gave up their dreams for completely unselfish reasons.
Gabe is ex-military suffering from PTSD. He doesn't believe that he is worthy of redemption, nor leaving his dreams behind... until he meets Maddy. She gave up everything to live her parents dream and help her sister out. After growing up with her parents, Maddy gave up on love and looked for a sensible-safe relationship.. until she meets Gabe.
The two of them learn to take down their barriers together, but one night, one call could ruin everything they've worked for. There is tragedy, and a lot of healing in this book! I was on the verge of tears several times. I highly recommend this book!! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I just love Courtney Cole's books and after reading Pax and Mila's story in If You Stay, I have been dying to get my hands on Madison's story in If You Leave. Madison is Mila's older sister. Ever since her parents died tragically, Madison has taken on their role, running the business, living in the family home, leaving her modeling career behind. She has always tried to take care of Mila and let her live her own life, knowing Mila's passion is art and not wanting to tie her down with the family restaurant. Madison has always been rather unlucky in the love department, feeling that she has always chosen the wrong kind of guys, the kind that never stick around. Then she meets Gabriel Vincent when she goes into the city for a "night on the town" with her best friend Jacey. The attraction between them is magnetic. Gabriel is a hot as they come, he's mysterious, cocky, and he is also very, very sexy. He's never wanted a girl for more than sex, especially since he went to Afghanistan, that is until he meets Madison. Gabriel is also an ex-Army Ranger. Something tragic happens that evening that gives Madison a glimpse into another side of Gabriel, one which he doesn't want anyone to see. She goes back home, never expecting to see him again. Needless to say that when he walks into her restaurant the next day she is flabbergasted. It just so happens that Gabriel Vincent is her friend Jacey's older brother, the one she was supposed to meet at the club the previous night, but Jacey thought he never made it. Not only did these two did meet, they already have a "history," but with both of their scarred pasts, is there any hope for a future?I loved this book. It was so good. It also was very emotionally raw and heartbreaking, causing you to experience the gamut of emotions from one end of the scale to another. Gabriel's experience in Afghanistan has messed him up big time and left him totally screwed up. He is such an awesome, stand-up, honorable guy whose dream has always been to be a soldier, but because of what happened he feels like a failure, is guilt ridden, and feels completely undeserving of ever experiencing love. Madison also has things in her past that we didn't know about, things she has stuffed down for years, things that have left her very emotionally scarred and feeling incapable of ever having a meaningful relationship. They try to help each other heal, and Gabriel is a godsend for Madison, but then the past rares its ugly head and threatens to destroy them. Gabriel has to decide if he is willing to let Madison in, and if he is willing to do what it takes to get the help he needs, but will it be too little too late? The journey these two go on in If You Leave is one you will never forget. There is also some drama that happens with Jacey that provides for some interesting twists and turns in the story. Courtney Cole has again done an outstanding job in writing not only a magnificent contemporary romance that is filled with drama, angst, and passion, but sheds light on an important issue that so many of our soldiers deal with, PTSD and its effects, while also honoring all those individuals who give their all to protect us. This is one story you won't want to miss. Oh, and the romance part is HOT! I am already counting the days until the next book in the series comes out, Before We Fall, which will be Jacey's story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinionIF YOU LEAVE tells the story of Gabriel, an ex Army Ranger and Madison. Madison appears in IF YOU STAY, seeing as she is Mila's sister. Gabriel pulls out of the army because of something that happened while being away and it is something that keeps tormenting him still. He tries to live a normal life but he has night terrors—terrors that are so vivid that can take a toll on him while he sleeps and affects others around him and even led to almost killing Madison.Madison is a sweet and funny woman. Madison is the owner of her parent's restaurant. She has an employee, Jacey, who takes Madison to a club to meet her brother but Jacey disappears with her boyfriend and Madison is left alone until she meets Gabriel. Madison catches a small glimpse of how terrified Gabriel is, how messed up he got from the Army. At the time, she didn't know why he was acting like that until he almost killed her.Madison and Gabriel's story is sweet yet intense—not only in the sex tense but also in general. It was a great story to read. I ended up crying a little a few times because it was heart wrenching the experience Gabriel had to go through. I really fell in love with him because of who he is: a guy that really cares about everyone, even if he doesn't fully know them. The characters are funny and quirky. The story is beautiful. It gives just a small insight on how terrifying experiences in the Army can be and what can cause in your life.
