[SPOILERS] I truly wanted to be able to say this was a great story. There's really good potential. Here are my issues, and they are abundant. First off, the amount of sex was way over the top. It reached epic proportions. I swear it was just about every chapter and heck, sometimes more than once within a chapter. Second, the words of adoration were almost disgustingly overdone. How many times and in how many ways did they need to express their undying love? Third, it was way way waaaay too drug out overall. It went from battling to sex and then the rest of the story was sex amongst a tiny bit of story. It was like drowning coffee in cream. Fourth, I didn't like that she was ready to kill the dog. Let's not dismiss the fact that she was ready to beat a dog to death. That suddenly went more horror novel. I could have done without that. I love dogs too much. If I came home and my friend had killed my dog, I would be shooting her. It was their fault to begin with because they were too busy doing the...yep *sigh*...the deed. The fact that Courtney could afford a million readers made her anger even more ridiculous. That also reminds me... when the heck did Reed have time to watch over the ranch when they started hitting it right and left? I hope they washed the sheets. Never let your friends have access to your private space. Just don't. Hygiene and all. Finally, they were both the worst people to each other on toxic levels in the beginning. I don't know if I could forgive some of that stuff. To each their own. The bad thing is, if there's another story, I'll have to check it out because, of course, I have to see if it's Kevin's story. Can it get any worse? Crap. One more thing, what is up with Layton being all happy (puking adoration) about Whitley and their upcoming baby, but then he randomly starts repeatedly dancing with another woman? Why isn't he soaking up the love with the reason they were having a party? It's a bit fooked up. I could also get into the odd way these people openly and shamelessly showed romantic feelings towards the people they weren't in a relationship with. I'm exhausted. Maybe it should go down another star.

Where to begin with this book, I’m not quite sure. I fell in love with Broken, and Layton & Whitley’s story. I felt the same with Reed & Courtney I loved the fight and the snarky way there were with each other. And I LOVED that their drama wasn’t due to things they did to each other but something that they worked through together. But somehow this book was lacking to me. I can’t put my finger on exactly what it was, I don’t know if its just because it was even keeled all the way through. No big build up and climax, yes it did have things that they dealt with facing old demons but it was just … (insert word here) like I said I can’t put my finger on it. This book is just a light and easy read. And if that’s what you looking for then I totally suggest picking this book up.With all that being said, I will tell you that I will pick up Broken Promises when it comes out. ★ Jammie
