      It took me a while to get accustomed to the jumping/changing narrative POVs (I'm simply not used to them anymore), and the writing was not, perhaps, the best in the whole wide world, but this was still a really fun book - and interesting to read a paranormal romance that was actually a sci-fi!

      Started reading this series a few years ago. Rediscovered it here on Audio and was not disappointed. Angela Dawe did a great job with the narration. Loved Shasha and Lucus's story. Hot blooded shape shifters, who are all about family. The Psy, people with various psychic talents, who a few generations ago, removed emotion. Shasha is different. She feels and has spent her entire life hiding it. Lucas if the alpha of his pack. They are brought together on a building project. Lucas has another agenda. Someone is killing female shifters, and everything points to the cold emotionless Psy. Sahsa is his in. Great world building and secondary characters. Great sexual tension, between Sasha and Lucas, with a good balance between story and sex. Disappointed that the second book , Visions of Heat, is not currently available on this site in Audio. Will have to go shopping for it.

      This is the story of Sascha, a Psy (a race of being who do not have emotions and they do not display feelings), who is working with Lucas, a Changeling (race of human/animal shapeshifters). Sascha and Lucas are working on a building development for the Changelings made in part by the Psy.

      Lucas is actually trying to get information from Sascha because there is supposedly a Psy serial killer kidnapping and hurting Changeling women. Sascha is a Psy that is starting to "fall apart", she has emotions and feelings even though no other Psy does. Both of them have secrets to hide, neither of them anticipated falling in love.

      The world building in this book was really nice, I enjoyed it. This is my first Nalini Singh novel and it won't be the last.

      by now, we're all familiar with the world of vampire-and-were romance (maybe too familiar at this point, where so many of those worlds seem to be pretty much the same). Singh therefore gets bonus points for shading that into some less-travelled territory with her sci-fi flavored novel. she's deleted the vamps, and added a handful of Anne McCaffrey's psionic talented people to create an interesting spin on the "2 worlds colliding" sort of PNR novel. our heroine is a psy, raised to be purely analytical and without emotion, but her training didn't quite work out and so she's hiding her emotional heart from the autocratic psy hierarchy. she meets a ferocious shapeshifting leopard, sparks fly, passions blaze, and solving a murder mystery is tossed in to boot.

      the book throws you right in the action, leaving the reader to piece together what's going on in this world as the story unfolds. it's a familiar literary set up to sci-fi readers, but not at all what I was expecting in a romance novel. the world Singh builds is interesting enough that I may check out future installments, but unfortunately, her writing style can be a bit annoying - she's a fan of short sentences that build on one another ("they were out for blood. psy blood."), which gets real old real quick. a ruthless editor would have made this a marvelous book.

      I'm surprised that so many people liked this one. I was looking at the ratings and this seemed to be loved by many. This is my second novel that I've read by Nalini Singh and it won't be my last. I just really couldn't connect with this book.Sascha, a Psy, works with Lucas, the Alpha cat, in a development deal between the feuding races. The Psy have always been the leaders. They feel no emotions at all. They are robotic and do things when they are practical and reasonable. Not because they want to, or have to, only when there is a benefit to them. They are connected psychically (huh, I didn't even think that was a word, but since there's no red squiggly line, I suppose it is. Sascha feels like all of a sudden she is losing her mind because she is starting to feel things. Especially when she's around Lucas. They each think about touching and talking and other stuff but don't do it. Lucas starts slowly touching her and she let's him. She still behaves like a robot. Lucas wants to find the killer of changeling girls. Blah, blah, blah. I still finished the book and I didn't hate it, but it was kind of a chore to finish. It's sci-fi, so I should have expected it to be like it was, but I still didn't like it. It started getting into minds and compartments in the minds and firewalls and talking to people in your mind while having a physical conversation with people and secret compartments in the mind and people invading your mind but not hearing your thoughts but hearing what you want and oh my goodness I've gone cross-eyed. I liked the interactions with the wolves. I didn't think Lucas was that much of an Alpha but whatever. They also were very touchy feely. I mean with other members in the pack, but that's how the packs are, I guess.I will read more of the books because I like the way Nalini writes and I want to know what to know what happens with some of the other changelings. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it, but I wouldn't stop someone from reading it.

      Singh does a fantastic job of creating her world and drawing you into it. The futuristic world of changlings (better known as "were" peoples) and psy (those with esp abilities) that Singh has created flows so well, I could not find a single flaw in her world building. (Something some paranormal authors have a problem doing.)Sascha, the heroine, is Psy- a race of humans who years back decided the Vulcans had it right (hee- I couldn't resist) and eliminated all emotions from their psyches.There's one problem, not all Psy are capable of the transition and it is these who are ruthlessly psychically lobotomized for it. Sascha fears she is well on her way to becoming one of these poor souls, because, though she hides it well and is in the upper echelon of the psynet, she knows she is flawed- she feels.No one brings her unruly emotions to the forefront like Lucas Hunter, the alpha-changling who recently came into her sphere with a business proposal that the Psy are bewilderingly anxious to make. Lucas has an ulterior motive, of course. Why else would he, a man who heavily relies on his senses, be dealing with the cold Psy race? (A serial killer who the changlings know to be psy is on the prowl and since the psy are covering it up he sends himself in to smoke the killer out.)The attraction between these two is instant and the pages crackle with their interactions from the get go. The more she tries to deny her helpless attraction, the more her emotions won't let her and Sascha and Lucas's eventual connection is hot stuff to be sure!I also loved the character development of both these two. By the end, when Sascha finally discovers what she truly is- and how she and her star-crossed lover can have their happily ever after without killing one or both of them- I knew I'd be running out to get the next in the series as soon as my wallet would allow!

      Sasha is a Psy, having grown up where her own mother is part of their great council, and having to never experience any emotion. But Sasha is different than the rest of the Psy, she does feel emotion, but tries to hide it from the other Psy so that the unthinkable doesn't happen. Then her mother tells her that she will be liason of sorts with a changeling, more specifically Luc Hunter the Alpha of his pack. Lucas, has always had a certain distaste for the Psy, however when he meets Sasha he thinks differently. He knows that there is something different about her, but he can't put his finger on what exactly there is that makes her stand out from the other Psy. As they work together, in trying to discover a missing girl, and a man who keeps on murdering innocent changeling women, they start to draw closer together, despite the fact that the odds are definitely against them. Both Lucas and Sasha will have to work in unison to solve the greatest mystery and to come out both alive. Will the love that they have built be enough to stand against everything that stands against them?I loved reading Lucas's story, I have read a few other books within this series, and I have always wanted to read Lucas and Sasha's story, they always seemed so connected and in tune with one another in the other books, that I definitely was thrilled when I got my hands on this one at the library. I found it to be such a riveting tale and had a suspenseful intensity about it, that really kept me turning the pages, and I could hardly put it down. The passion between these two is definitely steaming, and will fog up your windows for sure. I also loved the plot of this book, it definitely was one rollercoaster after another, and left me wondering what was going to happen next and always surprising me till the very end.

      3.5 stars but as a start to a new series, I really enjoyed this!

      I had heard a bit about this series before diving in but I didn't really know much about this at all. I really enjoyed what I ended up getting. This series is somewhere between paranormal and sci-fi and I really liked that sort of setting. I've read some paranormal romance before but mostly on the vampire, werewolf, etc. side of thing. I really liked the Changeling in particular, though the Psy were very interesting as well. I look forward to finding more about these two different groups and the characters that were introduced in this book in later parts of this series.

      I really liked Lucas as a love interest in this book. I also enjoyed Sascha, though she was a little less interesting to me. One thing that can happen in the first book of the series is that the author has to explain the world to us and sometimes that can take away from the romance in the first book. Luckily, I don't think that happened here. I think Singh did a great job using the romance and the overall plot to explain the world to us. I really liked seeing the developing relationship between Lucas and Sascha. I think with romances with mates can sometimes leave behind the actual development of the romance and just act like "they're mates, they don't need romantic development!" I really liked that we still see development happen and see Sascha and Lucas fall in love and also see Sascha develop on her own after seeing this new world.

      I really enjoyed this first book and I'm excited to read more. I already have book two on hold at the library so I'll probably get to it pretty soon. This seems like a really interesting world and I want to see where it goes from here.

      Wow, I'm on a first-book-in-the-series kick! This was another first book that lived up to the hype for me. I'm hoping the psy-changling world gets slowly built in time over the course of multiple books. I'd prefer not to have it frontloaded, and it wasn't. The romance was the focus and it was hot. I'd be totally fine visiting Lucas in my dreams too.

      I've read her Archangels series but not this one. I picked it up because a friend said I would like them. I liked the world building and the characters were interesting. There are now three types of humans, normal humans, changelings [shifters of several animal types] and Psy [ mental powers] . I'll be reading more of these because I want to see what happens with this culture of no emotions when people are realizing what it is doing to them.

      This was absolutely what I needed. I’m struggling with a slow tome, and wanted something fun to give my brain a break. I loved the characters and the world building. Singh’s writing flows well and I was sucked into the story almost instantaneously. I had a tough time putting the book down and if I could have kept my eyes open, I’d have finished it in one setting. I look forward to more of this series.

      The whole time while I was reading this I kept hearing part of Pink Floyd "The Trail" playing in my head. It's actually one of my favorite songs and one of my favorite parts. Childhood memories have that affect on somethings like that. Anyways... the part it reminds me of is:
      "The prisoner that now stands before you,
      was caught red-handed showing feelings,
      showing feelings of an almost human nature,
      this will not do..."       :P

      Well this is actually a perfect example of the psy people. If people is correct. They are almost alien like, not by looks, but emotionally. They are not allowed to have feelings, and are raised to believe that if they are found having any emotions, they will be brainwashed and be no more than a walking veggie. They are not suppose to feel love, hate, anger, or even be scared. They are very psychic creatures. Telepathy, telekinesis, and all that are their supernatural abilities.
      Sascha is a psy. But she has feelings. She's trying desperately to hide them, but she believes that she is beginning to deteriorate into insanity. She is born with eyes that show that she has potential to be one of the most powerful psy's in the world, a cardinal. While she was being cultivated to have no emotions, they also try to develop their psychic abilities. Unfortunately, she never had a specific skill that she was excelling at. So ever since she was young she knew she was different, and flawed.

      There are also the changelings. These are your shifters. Lucas is an alpha, an alpha leopard to be exact. He's trying to look into the killings of young changeling females who are being kidnapped, tortured, and murdered. With the evidence that his pack has found, they know that a psy is behind the murders. So he works with the psy as a contractor for a housing development, with the hopes of finding information out. He starts to work with Sascha, and realized that there is something very different about her.

      This is a very awesome book. So weird, but not at all. I really like the psy's set up. I'd love to see where this goes. :P

      In order to curtail their violent tendencies, the Psy race has been indoctrinated to feel nothing – no anger, no jealousy, no hatred and certainly no love. With the ability to shapeshift into animals, the Changelings are true predators and they hunt a Psy who has been butchering their women. Lucas believes Sascha may be his ticket into the Psy world but both he and his animal are fascinated by her. Can Sascha and Lucas resolve their differences in order to catch a killer? Are they willing to sacrifice everything for a taste of the ultimate temptation?

      Review
      Slave to Sensation starts out a little slow but grows into an exciting story once it gets going.

      The romance is intense and the love between the main characters is irrefutable. Sascha is an intriguing character. She is feisty and courageous and succeeds in concealing her flaws from her own people. She nevertheless yearns for a place to belong, which she finds with Lucas. On his part, Lucas is a dominant and possessive alpha, but never hesitates to accept Sascha for who she is despite their differences. He is even willing to sacrifice himself and the welfare of his pack to a certain extent. The fact that their mating develops over time rather than as the result of immediate and intense attraction further contributes to their relationship.

      The serial killer plot adds a sense of urgency to the action and highlights the profound differences between the Psy, who are reminiscent of the Vulcans from Star Trek with their cold and analytical logic as well as the Borg with their hive mind, and the Changelings who focus on emotion, physicality and sensuality.

      Singh's writing is fluid and her world building unique, interesting and entertaining. The dream sequences are particularly good (shared dreams are a favorite plot device of mine and these are written very well).

      The secondary characters are appealing in their own right and their stories should be enjoyable. Overall, a solid beginning to the series and I look forward to continuing with it.

Lucas has an unfortunately on-the-nose last name for a character that changes into a predator with fur worships the very emotions the Psy scorn. The brutal butchering of young changeling women have the two species on the verge of a disastrous war. They deserve some happiness, and I quickly grew fond of them both.Though Lucas took me a smidge longer to warm up to, I wound up falling for his protective and sexy ways. Anger is no more, but then neither is empathy, compassion, and love.“When they tried to get rid of violence… they also got ride of one of their most precious gifts.”In preventing their people from becoming savage monsters, they’ve created even successful monsters. I can’t believe a race that prides themselves as a race a step above the rest—especially in intelligence—failed to see the irony in their actions. It’s both laughable and sad, but unfortunately relate-able. Such is the folly of arrogance.SLAVE TO SENSATION was a stunner. I truly enjoyed the rereading of this novel. Days after reading this, I’m finally sitting down to review it… and in doing so, I crave it once more. If you haven’t checked out the Psy-Changeling series, or picked up SLAVE TO SENSATION, I’d certainly recommend it to PNR fans searching for a new world to discover.

      I loved the story between the Psy and the Changling.

      It seemed the the first part of the story and the second part was more Sascha. I wanted more Lucas, darling. It was refreshing to read a book without a lot of profanity since there was several sex scenes. Plus, i was able to learn about the world of the Psy an changing without a dictionary or glossary. HUGE...

      Since there really wasn't a cliffhanger I'm wondering what the other books in the series will be about. I will continue this series.

      I’ve been wanting to try the Psy-Changeling series for a while now, and I’m so glad I finally got around to picking up the first book. Slave to Sensation was an excellent start to this new-to-me series. The author has created a world that’s quite different from anything else I’ve read so far in the paranormal romance genre. It’s part sci-fi, because it takes place on a futuristic Earth with advanced technology. It’s also part fantasy, because the inhabitants of this future Earth fall into one of three races: human (although we don’t really see many of these in this story), changeling (the shape-shifters), and Psy (mentally advanced beings who have various psychic capabilities). To make things more complex, the Psy, who are mostly seen in the upper echelons of society in business and government, have shut down all their emotions, ruling strictly by cold logic. Also all Psy are connected to one another via the PsyNet, which is an Internet of sorts made up of all Psy minds. To some degree, they can all access each other’s minds and also feed off each other’s psychic energy, something they need in order to survive just like air and water. For Trekkies, the Psy are kind of like Vulcans meet the Borg. It’s all a very intriguing and satisfying new world that I can’t wait to read more of.Sascha is a Psy who feels her mind deteriorating daily. She knows she’s not supposed to feel emotion, and yet she does, finding it increasingly difficult to hide this defect from her mother and the other Psy with whom she associates. Sascha believes herself to be broken, and at some point, knows she’s going to be caught and sent to the Center for “rehabilitation,” which basically amounts to lobotomizing the Psy mind, leaving them a zombie-like shell of their former selves. She lives in fear of this daily until her mother sends Sascha to represent their family business interests by cutting a lucrative deal with a local leopard changeling pack to build housing on changeling land. There she meets pack alpha, Lucas, who makes her feel things she’s never felt before. When she learns that changeling women are being kidnapped and murdered and that the changelings believe it’s a Psy committing the crimes, she doesn’t want to believe it at first. But before long, Sascha realizes the truth and decides to help the pack ferret out the perpetrator even though she knows she’ll likely be caught. Since she refuses to be “rehabilitated” and knows there’s no escaping from the PsyNet without dying in the process, it’s her way of going out is a blaze of glory while helping the changeling male she’s come to love and righting a wrong in the process. I have to give Sascha a lot of credit for being strong enough to stand up to Lucas’s alpha posturing. She’s every bit as a stubborn as he is and very brave, too, to go up against years of accepted Psy wisdom. I was also extremely intrigued by the things she discovers about herself and about Psy nature in general as she goes on this journey, and I look forward to seeing where it all leads in future books of the series.Lucas earned his status as alpha of his pack at a very young age. He was still just a juvenile when he saw his parents murdered by rivals and barely survived their beating himself. He vowed revenge and took it at the tender age of eighteen, which led to him beginning to gain the respect of his fellow leopard changelings. While violence is part and parcel of changeling nature, Lucas tries to rule with his head and not always his heart. That’s why when one of their own females falls victim to the Psy serial killer, he knows they must investigate first. Going in “guns blazing” so to speak will only get them into a war with the Psy that will lead to the loss of thousands of lives, so his plan is to identify the killer and seek retribution on him alone. But when a female from a wolf pack with whom the leopards have a tenuous truce goes missing, they know they only have one week to find her or war will be imminent. That’s why Lucas decides to try to leverage his connection with Sascha to get information out of her. Of course, his inner cat quickly awakens to the mating dance which leads to him discovering that his little Psy is far more than he ever dreamed. I typically prefer my romance heroes to be more on the vulnerable side, so Lucas was perhaps just a teensy bit too alpha for me, but he did balance that dominance out with his touchy-feely nature. Touch is an innate part of changeling nature to express pack and familial bonds, and being a tactile person myself, I really like that. Also, when he faces the possibility of losing Sascha if she disconnects from the PsyNet, he does show more of the emotion that I like to see in a hero. I love that he wouldn’t give up on finding a way to help her survive and was willing to sacrifice himself to that end.Slave to Sensation has a lot of secondary characters. First, all of Lucas’s pack sentinels, who are basically the soldier/protectors of the pack, go on to get their own books. Vaughn is the hero of the next book, Visions of Heat. Clay, the enigmatic loner, becomes the hero of book #4, Mine to Possess. Dorian, the brother of the murdered leopard female and a changeling who can’t shift, intrigues me. He’ll be the hero of book #5, Hostage to Pleasure. Then, Mercy, the only female sentinel, becomes the heroine of book #6, Branded by Fire. There’s also Nate, who’s already happily mated to Tamsyn, the gentle pack healer, but it looks like the author wrote a prequel novella about them (after the fact :-)) titled, Beat of Temptation (from the anthology Wild Invitation). Also from the wolf pack side, alpha Hawke, who seems even more closed off than Lucas, becomes the hero of book #10, Kiss of Snow, his lieutenant, Indigo, who was barely mentioned becomes the heroine of book #9, Passion Play, and Brenna, the kidnapped wolf girl, along with Judd, a Psy who I can’t really say anything about without giving away spoilers become the hero and heroine of book #3, Caressed by Ice. There might be other minor characters who show up in some of the novellas, but these are the carry-over characters I know about for sure.Overall, Slave to Sensation was a really good read. There were a couple of plot points that were a little predictable for me, but it didn’t really detract from the fun of getting to the reveal. Perhaps there could have been a little better emotional connection, but at the same time, I recognize that Sascha was a Psy who’d been taught to suppress her emotions and Lucas, as pack alpha, doesn’t easily show a lot of emotion either, so it definitely wasn’t a deal-breaker for me. A few more love scenes wouldn’t have gone amiss either. There’s only one (unless you count the dream sex), but it is pretty hot, so I guess I can’t complain too much. All these were pretty minor things in an otherwise exciting story. Not to mention, the author gets some extra points from me for the racial/ethnic diversity of her characters, which I loved. I’m very enthralled by the intricacies of this new world and look forward to exploring more of the stories to see just how far the changeling/Psy integration goes. I’m also interested to see if the Psy hierarchy is dismantled. They definitely suffered a blow to their supremacy in this book, so I’m very much intrigued to continue on with the series soon, as well as check out the deleted scene and free short story on Nalini Singh’s website that show readers more of Lucas and Sascha’s relationship.

      Don't know, why, but despite all the complexity of the world, nice enough heroes, good supporting cast, etc., I was just plain bored by the story and mildly irritated by some discrepancies in Psy-part of the world. I have to confess, that I've read "Stroke of enticement" first and know the setting already... Maybe I started in the wrong order, but now I don't have the slightest incentive to continue with the series.

      I have had this book on my wish list for awhile and I kept hearing awesome things about Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series and I decided it was time to try some of her work. I started with 'Slave to Sensation' and I am SOOO glad I did. This book is absolutely amazing. I am not much into alternate reality/futuristic work but Nalini Singh made me fall head over heels in love with this book and her amazing characters.
      The main characters are awesome, so strong and both have a good sense of justice and a clearly defined sense of right and wrong. Both of which seems to be lacking in parts of the characters' world. Together these two are completely explosive and absolutely perfect.

      I loved every single page and word in this book. You will too!

      I have had Nalini Singh's Psy-Changling series on my wishlist for quite some time (*cough* years) and I finally had a bit of free time in my reading schedule to jump into the first book SLAVE TO SENSATION. I admit that the previous cover for this book made it hard to want to pick it up so the revamped cover is a nice treat.Sascha isn't like the other Psy, she feels, and when Lucas walks into her life, she isn't sure if that is a good or bad thing. Lucas is a Changing and alpha of a very powerful pack and Sascha tempts his animal from the moment he lays eyes on her. He isn't sure why, but he wants nothing more than to tear down the walls she has around herself and discover why she seems so much different tan the cold Psy he's used to. Sascha and Lucas come from two different worlds, but find themselves coming together the more time they are in each others company. There was a lot of push-pull to their relationship, but you could tell from early on that they would be a hot couple.Besides the couple and the romance that grows throughout, SLAVE TO SENSATION also has the pleasure of having a really great cast of supporting characters and I really look forward to reading their stories as the series continues.SLAVE TO SENSATION was a great introduction into the Psy-Changling world and made me want to read and know more about the characters introduced. I loved that I was immediately able to jump into the next book in the series and since book 13 is set to release on June 2nd, I have quite a few books to read before I catch up. * This book was provided free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

      This was a lovely introduction into the Psy-changeling world. This author has such a creative imagination! The worlds she creates are so fantastical I want to live in DarkRiver territory. Hell, I wouldn't mind a sleek, modern Psy apartment either!

      A satisfying read although I guessed the villan pretty early on and I never figure these things out. Sascha's journey into the world of feeling and emotion was lovely and touching. I really connected with her. On the other hand, Lucas with all his prowling and growling, nipping and shielding was just too dominant for me. By the end it just got overwhelming, but hey, he's an alpha and that's what they do!

      This was my second Singh book and while her stories are phenomenal, the heat factor didn't deliver that much. The dance the hero and heroine did around each other had me on the edge of my seat but the actual consumation of all this agnst left me a kinda cold. Of course that's not stopping me from running out to the library and picking up the next three books! I want to know more about Mercy, Clay and Hawke and the Psy brothers and just where do humans fit in all this? Yeah, I'm hooked.

      I was captivated by this paranormal story with touchingly tender moments. Sascha was trained to suppress emotion. Lucas, a luscious alpha, was both panther and man. A business deal brought them together when their world was in turmoil. A couple times I found myself skimming technical descriptions racing to the exiting parts.

      I'm a fan of the author's UF Guild Hunter books and wanted to see what her futuristic PNR series was like so I read this. It was brilliant. I loved it, I loved it, I loved it! The only thing I could criticise was the ending. I thought there would be a big fight scene with casualties on both sides but this wasn't enough to stop me from giving it 5 stars, the detailed world and variety of characters were too good to give it anything less! Please don't be put off by the US covers, it's not as cheesy as it looks.

      This novel falls in the genre of paranormal erotica. It was better than I had expected it to be but still had lots of repetition. And the climax was also not that exciting. Pun intended.

      After all the great reviews that I read about this book, I was very excited to read it and I must say that it didn't disapoint in any way. The story was fresh and the universe that it revolves is very interesting too. Lucas and Sascha are both incredibly sexy and Sascha becomes even more so after she accepts that she can feel things. I have already read an excerp of the next book and I'm looking forward to reading it.

      I was not sure if I would like this book or not. I am not sure why. It started slow to me. I do not like the Psy, but I do like the Changelings, so the book got better as we learned more about them. I will read the next book (add it to my to-be-read pile).

      After being disappointed a "Angel's Blood" I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Although I did have to put up with a bit of a ribbing for reading it at work. Apparently it looks like erotica. Well, it did get a little bit spicy in parts, but I've read worse. Anyhow, the psy-changeling world of our future is quite an interesting one - unlike most paranormal novels you're not overwelmed with a plethora of different species - in this case there are only three - humans, psys and changelings. Psys are cold and emotionless, having had their emotion drained out of them. Changelings are the exact opposite - filled with life and love and delighting in the visceral pleasures of all kinds. The world is creative and well developed, the characters easy to empathise with and all up, this was an enjoyable read and I shall continue with the series.

      Doing a re-read for a Book of the Month read and also because Heart of Obsidian came out this month. I'm hoping the have the series reread before the paperback comes out in the fall.

      I remember about 1/2 of what happened in this but my ordering was quite messed up. This is PNR at its best. The emotions/sexual tension/scenes aren't drawn out yet the relationship is the main focus, still the background world and workings of shapeshifter and psy politics get you very involved with the story line too. It is a very good balance and someone that likes UF might like it if they aren't totally against a good romance going on in the middle of the storyline.
