About this audiobook

Once upon a time, a historical romance author created a family . . .

But not just any family. Eight brothers and sisters, assorted in-laws, sons and daughters, nieces and nephews (not to mention an overweight corgi) plus an irrepressible matriarch who's a match for any of them . . . These are the Bridgertons: less a family than a force of nature. Through eight bestselling novels, readers laughed, cried, and fell in love. But they wanted more.

And so the readers asked the author . . .

What happens next? Does Simon ever read his father's letters? Do Francesca and Michael become parents? Who would win in a Pall Mall grudge match?

Does "The End" really have to be the end?

Now, with The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After, Julia Quinn delivers eight sexy, funny, and heartwarming "2nd Epilogues" plus a bonus story about none other than the wise and witty matriarch Violet Bridgerton herself. So get to know the Bridgertons all over again—because Happily Ever After is a whole lot of fun.

These are great extra scenes and snippets from the series, including several novellas offering close glimpses of multiple characters. Unlike many companion books, this one actually adds a great deal more to the reading experience of the series it's paired with, as well as a lot more information about the story and characters. So, it's definitely worth it.

I bought this book in my latest trip home and I'm happy to see that some of the books I bought made their way here to Kuwait so other readers can enjoy them as well.

The art in the novel reminds me a bit of The Time-Traveling Fashionista series by Bianca Turetsky (one of my favorite) but I wished they were colored.

"The Queen" happened to be my favorite of the short stories, I enjoyed "After The One" as well, all the stories were nice and I preordered my copy of The Siren!

I really liked that the author didn't forget Violet. I also wanted to know how she got together with the ever present (in spirit) Edmund and how their love story went.

You will read a series of short stories about different characters from The Selection series. If you read The Selection series, you’ll enjoy this as well. I wasn’t sure I was interested and then decided to listen to it. There are several stories all told from different characters. The first is Maxim’s mother--what her selection was like. We always wondered how his mother could be so nice while his father was such a violent and difficult person, so this story makes them more realistic. Another story deals with Maxim and how his life changed when the Selection began. There’s a short story with Aspen’s point of view as well as one with Lucy’s point of view. Celeste also has her own short story. Marlee’s story is included as well. The last story is Maxim and America after they’ve been married for a couple of years. I didn’t give the stories in order except for the first one. I honestly didn’t think I’d be interested, but it really was intriguing to see the overall story from another character’s point of view. I did find several endings abrupt. The stories focus on characters with America, not the new ones with America’s daughter. I read this book last of all the series, so I had a hard time remembering events from the first book, so I recommend reading this after The One.

I love Harriet Evans. Ever since I read 'A Hopeless Romantic' (and pretty much grinned all the way through it) I have kept an eye on her writing. So when I had the opportunity to review Happily Ever After, I was pretty thrilled.Eleanor Bee wants to work with books and when she lands a job working at a publishing house, she gets her wish. She also gets some other things that she didn't bargain for, including an affair with her boss, the man of her dreams. Sadly, Rory isn't quite the man she thought he was. Or perhaps it's fairer to say that he is the man she thought he was - but hoped he wasn't. I don't like spoilers so I'll try not to give too much way. Suffice to say that given that this is romantic fiction, there's a certain amount of prescriptive plotting: the misunderstandings, the rows that could so easily be averted, the 'one' who isn't the one, the 'one' who is the one but at the wrong time. While Happily Ever After didn't leave me quite so gushing and warm inside as 'A Hopeless Romantic', nonetheless it was a wonderful read. At one point I really wasn't sure how it was going to end and wondered if I'd totally misread the cues. Thankfully I was left with the happily ever after that I wanted, albeit with a slightly more adult tinge than the fairy tales. Evans writes 'real life' romance at its best. It's gritty, not always straightforward, not always easy reading but always, always with something to make your heart flutter.I received a copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review. I did not receive any additional compensation. All opinions are my own.

Some of the stories really are interesting, even if there are quite a few that I hated. The scenes from Celeste's point of view were the most interesting parts of this book.

I liked this collection of short stories, but I was kind of underwhelmed. There's a lot of repetition (i.e. a scene that we've already read in the series, but from a different character's perspective, so the dialogue is the same, though the thoughts are different.) It was interesting and gave some more insight into the characters, and I did really enjoy the illustrations, but I'm not as eager to own this one as I am the rest of the series.Unfortunately, I can't rate each individual story because it's been too long since I read it, but I remember that I preferred the stories about the more minor characters to the stories about Maxon and Aspen (because of the aforementioned repetition). I liked learning more about Amberly, Celeste, and America's maids.[SERIES SPOILER]On the other hand, I want to know more about Clarkson after reading Amberly's story. He was decent and relatively charming in "Happily Ever After". It's so hard to imagine him turning into the man in "The Selection", who cheats on his wife and beats his son.

I was given a copy of Happily Ever After by Edelweiss for a review. When I saw the title, I was beyond pleased. I have just really enjoyed reading this series. I hadn't a chance to read the epilogue novella's that have come out for some of the books in the series. For me though, I had such a fun time reading this, and read it in one evening, I liked it so much. I think my favorite novella of them all would have to be from "The Duke and I". I think that novel was my favorite...I just fell in love with Daphne and Simon from the beginning. I really liked seeing more of them, and the rest of the Bridgertons. I really loved seeing a happy ending for Violet Bridgerton (the mother). I think I had always been hoping for a story for her as I read the series and we got to know her better. There was such a fun and playful aspect to these novella's, that keeps you engaged with every short story. I also liked the way this author did each novella, they were at various periods of time in their lives. It definitely kept me on my toes and unable to put it down. Such a delightful end to a fabulous and great series. I would recommend this to any lover of the Bridgerton series. A Perfect Ending!!

It brought closure to some of the Bridgerton storylines such as Simon and his father's letters, Eloise's reaction discovering Penelope's secret, Francesca and Michael's children, Hyacinthe and the jewels.
For the storylines that were already complete such as "The Viscount Who Loved Me", we were given extra amounts of fun and joy through the Pall Mall rematch. I also found Daphne's reaction to her surprise pregnancy ironic given all the fuss she had expressed about having children in the "Duke and I". I also appreciated the way Gregory paid tribute to his family through his children's names (although the incident with Lucy scared me a bit).
I absolutely loved "Violet in Bloom", as it allowed us to be closer to our favorite "regency era Mama".

Thank you Julia Quinn for this extra dose of happiness regarding our favorite regency era family.

I finished the complete series and overall it was a lot of fun. The first three books were the best. The rest were fun, but not as good. Happily Ever After, is a companion collection of novellas, and it felt pretty unnecessary. Most of the characters were one dimensional and it just retold scenes from earlier books from a new point of view. The Favorite was the one stand out. An entertaining series similar to The Hunger Games and The Chemical Garden Trilogy, that was very quick to read.

Ah, my guilty pleasure series. In this collection of novellas and short stories we get to explore America's present and future from the perspective of friends, enemies, and loved ones. I think the two parts dedicated to Celeste were my favorite. I wish we'd gotten to see this level of dimension to her in the series-proper.

I'm not particularly fond of reading companion books written from different pov's. For one thing I think it's an unnecessary fill-in until the next book comes out. However, Kiera Cass did a wonderful job in Happily Ever After by compiling novellas from the pov's of Queen Amberly, Prince Maxon, Aspen, Marlee, Celeste and Lucy. We also find out what happened two years after Maxon's wedding to The One as well as updates on some of the girls who were eliminated from the Selection. The illustrations are pretty too, and that cover - wow! Kiera Cass' books has the most beautiful covers I've ever seen.In The Queen we learn that Queen Amberly used to be a four and has been in love with King Clarkson since she was young. Details about King Clarkson's parents are revealed, shedding light on why the King is the way he is, especially towards Prince Maxon. In The Prince we find out how the girls were chosen for The Selection and see the whole process unfold through the eyes of Prince Maxon. It's interesting to read what he thought of America, the other girls and his views about certain things that transpired in the first three books of this series.I'm actually a Prince Maxon fan, but after reading The Guard I began liking Aspen too. We learn how much he loves America and the things he did to prove his love for her and fight for what they once had. I selfishly wanted him to be in love with America forever, but I'm glad he also found his happily ever after.Marlee and Carter's love story is revealed in The Favorite - how they met, how their feelings grew and the risks they were willing to take to be together. We also find out exactly what Prince Maxon did to help them, which will make the Prince's fans love him even more. Those who disliked Celeste in the story will understand her better, and perhaps even feel sorry for her, after reading her novella.Lucy, one of America's maids, also has a novella. This is my least favorite as she came off bitter and harsher than she was originally portrayed in the series. We also find out what happened to Prince Maxon and his chosen wife two years after they were married. It's nice to read how head over heels in love they are as well as some of the changes that has happened to their kingdom after the attacks. It's also interesting to know what happened to some of the ladies who weren't chosen by Prince Maxon. To wrap up, Happily Ever After makes for a good companion as you excitedly wait for the final book in the Selection series to come out. The Crown hits stores on May 3.

I actually really enjoyed this book and feel like it added quite a lot to the series. It's so refreshing to read things from other PoVs and seeing them in a different light. All the novellas were entertaining and well written. I would recommend this book to fans of the series. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

3.75I am not normally a fan of novellas, but this one worked. I like some of the stories more than others. I do feel all of them were great additions to the story and for our characters. I liked seeing the in between story from the original series, and also where our characters are after the story. Overall, I really enjoyed this.

It’s so sad to say goodbye to this series. I still loved the first two the best after having read all eight and the novellas. However they all have a special place in my heart and I would highly recommend them all as well as the prequels. I liked Violets novella but honestly I think I would have liked a bit more of her relationship with Edmund. I felt like we only got a short glimpse at their love story. A tiny snapshot. I would have liked to know them as a couple as I feel as though we get all the eight other books to understand life after the bee sting but never really got to explore much of life before it. Still, a lovely heart rending story. I adore Julia Quinn and everything she writes.

When you read those romances that end with the "Happily Ever After" somehow there's always a few questions left unanswered. In this book, Julia Quinn writes the 2nd epilogue to the 8 books in the Bridgerton series bringing all the characters back to life but showing us the ever after.Great fun!

Okay, this book isn't quite a proper novel. Its a collection of second epilogue of all the Bridgerton books series first published online or attached to newer edition of the books and all of it was compiled into this paperback with some extra novella at the end. I've read the Bridgerton series through my secondary high school. I like the earlier books more than the rest after "To Sir Phillip with Love".

I've read most of the first two book's secondary epilogue and on repeated reading, it does feel a bit far-fetched to not anticipate more. But with the prevalent theme of "Happily Ever After", the book don't make a good reading on its own. So far, I still enjoy The Duke and I's epilogue which wound up with closing the open ended storylines which was the letters Simon father left him. The second book is plain silly about married couples and some gaming tradition and mallet stealing and fighting. I did enjoy the closing story with Posey. As for Romancing Mister Bridgerton, I end up skipping through the story because there's less story and more nonsense dialogue in it. I hardly remember anything with the next epilogue although the later Francesca's story does make everything a bit worthwhile. By the time I reach, It's In His Kiss and It's In His Kiss, I lost interest whatsoever in the series. Quinn's Bridgerton family are too big and the story can go out of fuse easily with too many similar stick characterization and of course, the kids. But Violet's novella is a bit rewarding at the end although it is frustrating that she didn't get another chance at love at all.
If you really love the series and finish the series, get this book. But if you're like me, who have read the books and fall out of love with the repetitive genre; it is tiresome to ask your readers to re-buy your books just because you add an extra epilogue behind it. Its just a marketing ploy for you to buy the older series and recomplete your collection or something.

The Bridgertons are back! As a huge fan of the Bridgerton series, I was very excited to hear that Julia Quinn was coming out with a book of second epilogues for the Bridgerton family. I relished the idea of revisiting these characters and was excited to also see that the Bridgerton matriarch was getting a story as well. The stories range in time from immediately after the original books end to many years after. Each story comes with a brief intro by Quinn which gives the reader some fun insight into the story. These were all (except for Violet’s story) previously published as short e-originals and are collected here for the first time. Please note that I have read all off the Bridgerton books except for two (which I’ll note below). That did not take away from my enjoyment of these stories at all, though, as you will see. The Duke and I: The Second Epilogue (Daphne & Simon)Simon and Daphne’s story takes place many years after The Duke and I. Daphne finds herself unexpectedly pregnant again and is waiting for just to right time to tell Simon. We also finally learn what is in the packet of letters that Simon’s father left him. Such a fun, sweet story! Daphne and Simon were always one of my favorite couples and I loved seeing them living happily years later. You really get the feel of the Bridgteron family dynamic in this one and the affection between Simon and Daphne is clear. Funny, sweet, and touching, the second epilogue for Simon and Daphne was one of my favorites. The Viscount Who Loved Me: The Second Epilogue (Kate & Anthony)This story re-visits the infamous Pall Mall game from The Viscount Who Loved Me. Each year the players of the original game get together to play it again, with Anthony and Kate vying for the mallet of death. This story is hilarious and I love how each player continues to try and one up the other. This one made me laugh. An Offer From A Gentleman: The Second Epilogue (Sophie & Benedict)The second epilogue from Sophie and Benedict focuses on Sophie’s half sister Posy. Posy was the only non-awful family member that Sophie had and this story is about her finally finding her happily ever after. This is a really cute story. I always liked Posy and it was nice to see her find love. We also get a bit of an update on Sophie and Benedict, who are living happily in the country with their children. A very sweet story.Romancing Mr. Bridgerton: The Second Epilogue (Penelope & Colin)Colin and Penelope were always my favorite couple and this was the story I was looking forward to the most. To keep things spoiler free I will just say that this story is about how Eloise finds out about the big secret that was revealed in the book. I was a little bit disappointed that the story didn’t really focus on them and their relationship, but I still liked it. To Sir Phillip With Love: The Second Epilogue (Eloise & Phillip)This story is a bit different than the others. It’s told in first person and is from the point of view of Amanda Crane, one of the troublesome Crane twins from Eloise and Phillip’s story. This story wasn’t my favorite only because I didn’t have a lot invested in Amanda’s character. It was nice to see what happened to her as she got older but I think I would have preferred something focusing on Eloise and Phillip. I enjoyed the first person point of view though and it was a cute story. When He Was Wicked: The Second Epilogue (Francesca & Michael)This is one of the epilogues whose accompanying book I have not read. This epilogue takes place three years after Francesca and Michael’s story ends. The two have not been able to conceive any children thus far and the story focuses on Francesca and how she is dealing with the fact that she may never have her own children. Despite having never read their story, I found this epilogue to be one of the most emotional and moving in the whole collection. You can really see the family dynamic at play here with appearances by Violet, Eloise and many nieces and nephews. I don’t know Francesca and Michael’s story but this makes me really want to read it. They have a really playful and sweet relationship and the ending of this story left me with a smile on my face. It’s In His Kiss: The Second Epilogue (Hyacinth & Gareth)This epilogue answers the question about whether or not Hyacinth ever finds the diamond necklace that she is searching for in It’s In His Kiss. It’s 22 years later and Hyacinth and Gareth are still happily married. Hyacinth is determined to see her daughter Isabella married during the season and finds that she has a difficult job ahead of her. This is a really fun story that shows of Hyacinth’s personality well. The tables have turned and she now knows what it’s like to have a daughter just like herself. Gareth and Hyacinth are a great couple and I liked seeing them again. Isabella is a fun new character and was fun to read about. I thought the ending was fitting and am happy to know what finally became of the necklace. On The Way To The Wedding: The Second Epilogue (Gregory & Lucy)This is the other book that I have not read yet. It takes place right after the events of the book when Lucy gives birth for the last time - only the birth doesn’t go quite as planned. Even though I did not know much about Lucy and Gregory’s story, I found myself emotionally invested in this one right away. It’s a bit harrowing but, don’t worry, it still has a happy ending. Violet In Bloom: A NovellaViolet’s story is both wonderful and bittersweet. If you’ve read any of the books in the series (spoiler alert!) you know that Edmund Bridgerton dies at a young age from a reaction from a bee sting. Though he has been gone for quite a while before the first book begins, his character’s presence can be felt in every book. I loved this brief glimpse into the past to see how Violet and Edmund meet and come to be married. We mourn with Violet as she deals with the sudden and devastating loss of her husband and go with her as she learns to move on to embrace life with her children. This is a really wonderful and touching story that gives great insight into the Bridgerton matriarch.I would not recommend this for anyone who has not read most, if not all, of the Bridgerton books. If you haven’t read this series yet, do yourself a favor and try it. If you are already a fan of the Bridgertons, Happily Ever After is a must read. It has all of the humor and heart that I’ve come to expect of Quinn’s writing. The Bridgertons are like old, familiar friends and I had a lot of fun visiting them again. Most of these stories were previously released as short story ebooks. I had not read any of them, so it was nice to have them all in one place. Even if you already own a few of the stories, it may be worth it to buy the collection and have them all in one volume, depending on whether or not you plan to re-read them (which I totally do). The story about Violet is also a nice bonus. I really enjoyed this one. The Bridgertons never fail to put a smile on my face and I was glad to see them one more time. *I received this book free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This, in no way, affected my opinion or review of this book.

As a collective, this is really fun. All of these great epilogues all in one place. But Violet's story isn't very happy. (Of course her time with Edmund- too brief!! Is wonderful.) Why can't she have a little late romance too? Who was that dashing masked man that she dances with? I had hoped for so much more for her. So for that, I was disappointed.
